I hate social media shit.

X, meta, insta = dog food and useless ego

YouTube = I don't consider it social media but sometimes I spend 12 hours in a day with it. Because it is much better than even most colleges/unis. Most educational shit online is there, but be careful of wrong information ofc. But even physical books are full of wrong information already.

I think every social media platform has its own unique opportunities to build something for yourself if you use it the right way

For example... someone who isn’t comfortable showing their face on camera can still create content and use X to grow an audience for themselves

And like I always tell my mates, there are two sides to X usage
You can either use it to market yourself and promote what you’re building professionally or just be there to bant and play around all day

The same goes for TikTok too : )

Creating those had a really good function and purpose at the start then people abused them so badly.
 
Many people don't have time to watch videos. So they just scroll through like Facebook and Instagram provide

12 hours a day on youtube? thats loads, lol how many hours a day actually working? :D It certainly aint a full 7-8 shift, if you just doom lorded 12 hours of videos! lol

Be careful you don't mistake entertainment for work and results.

Lol. Only some days of course. Avarage daily hours = only 6 hours a day.

If it is 9+ hours per day, that day you will feel very very depressed. But your brain will be bombed by too much info. And if you watch with 2x speed, that means 20+ hours information Per day.
 
I hear you. YouTube is definitely a powerful tool for learning, way beyond regular feeds. Just remember to always filter and verify information, it's easy to go down the wrong rabbit hole on any platform.
 
YouTube Shorts are incredibly addictive. I'll stick those on when I'm having dinner. Some of the things they think I want to watch are odd but I've refined my tastes now so I get lots of football, dogs and Taskmaster clips.

For some reason it thought I'd like this channel / podcast called Real Real Japan, but these guys are hilarious and I think they've even done a comedy tour in America now.

YouTube is not a social network — at least I used to think so.
But then there were days when I spent up to 12 hours just watching YouTube.
Not for entertainment, but for learning.
 
As an individual consumer, I'm not a social media user myself. For me, YouTube is a content platform more than a social media platform and watching stuff on YouTube is something I do regularly.
 
I guess you are in love with YouTube short, it more interesting than TikTok.

I don't like short videos in general. Reels or shorts, doesn't matter. Some short videos are nice though. But only 10 minutes out of 12 hours can be short videos in my past.
