I need your advice on a brand competitor website.

I run my own offline SEO company based in the UK.

Recently we have had a client who has got a brand name problem..

She has registered all of her brand name related sites on the internet on most domains. She has ranked them before I was even on the case and there is a problem..

... some sneaky bugger has taken her brand name on another domain and ranked it pretty well.. for an example here the brandname "tw1tt3r"

They have registered a completely EMD domain name like tw1tt3r.de and then ranked it to match to her .co.uk domain. (actually on a PR2) - how the hell they have done it in such a short amount of time is beyond me... In an attempt to push it down the line, what should i do...

They are trashing the brand completely... have got stock from a replica chinese supplier and are selling it at undercut prices. The products and brand name are UNIQUE to the owner of "tw1tt3r" she owns all rights...

SO. what can I do, personally it wouldn't be a massive issue for me to actually nuke the shit out of the site with some spammy ass URLS from a provider. but I know this is bad, yet the fact of the matter is this woman knows "tw1tt3r . de" and the people who run it, they are just out to cause trouble for the company - bad deal in the past yada yada.. Giving the actual BRAND a bad name due to poor quality products and lack of customer service...

Options for me to do..

1) out rank domain naturally - takes what 3 weeks at most..
2) de-index the domain with spammy url links (risky) - takes what a week?
3) ponder slightly as i am stuck with less options.... need your ideas..

BTW My client can't file anything against the other site for copyright claims etc, even though she is using the same images, logo etc on the domain.. (can't really explain why)

Report it to google so that it won't be shown in the serp.

If your client is a registered company and the owner of the brand then this is not a really an seo problem. Its a strongly worded cease and desist preferably from a barrister. Threatening 24 hr takedown and possible further action for causing damage to your brand and trading off your good name.

Dont bother talking to google, get in touch with their internet provider with a takedown notice. and as you are in the UK you need to call trading standards and provide them with as much information(do a full whois) as you can. Selling counterfeits is a crime in the UK.

Okay(edit) just seen your client wont go legal (dont understand that)

You could do a backlinks check on them and try to decipher the links they have, and then try to spam them up with shit links.....but I think thats a bad idea.. If there was an exact science to de-indexing a website with a wild scrapebox/xrumer blast then there would be more people at it... In reality you could blast them to number 1 where they might stay for six months.

I would consider the opposite of online retail management. Try to get somebody working full time for a few weeks spreading the word about the dangers of buying off website.de

If you can get enough handwritten quality posts on big traffic websites...consider mumsnet.moneysavingexpert...as your high watermark "just wanted to share my experience on how I got ripped off and ended up getting stung with fake goods when I bought off website.de instead of website.co.uk"

There are several hundred places to share the good news.. At the same time a warning added to the front page of your clients site about the dangers of buying counterfeit and an assurance that your products are the original(with concession proof from manufaturer say) would be a good counter attack

Thank you Duffers5000 for that post, I cant really disclose why they wont do the legal route, has something vaguely to do with the fact they let these people trade before and now they want them off but can't do too much about it until a period of time when some dust settles..

legal action is the best route and not taking that action is confusing.

me also outrank a brand for most of the keywords .. but the niche and market is small.

I would also like to learn quick ways to rank and maintain ranking.

To put it simply its an EX trying to get back at them, nothing can be done about it during proceedings, so we need ideas to de-index the domain,

Does anyone here want to PM me (I will be discrete) on how they may de-index a Website, i can pay paypal to whoever succeeds on removing the website.
