If you can help me get a site de-indexed from google please shoot me a pm. A local newspaper wrote a complete bogus / phony article about my friends uncle and I need to get it off google. When you search his name its the first thing that pops up.

He is willing to pay, so if you are sure you can do this let me know.

As far as I'm aware this just isn't possible and even if it was, the culprit could just resubmit it as many times as they wanted. The only way out is to get the uploader to remove it which seems unlikely also.

If he is in the U.S. and it is bogus, why does he not file a lawsuit for liable or slander.
Is he famous?.....Why would someone search his name?
Create a myspace profile...a facebook profile....hubpage, squidoo, zimbio, wordpress, blogger, and any other web 2.0 property with his name as the title and in the url. Post content about him and scatter his name thruout like you would any keyword.
Create hundreds of profiles on angela and pauls style forums using his name. Link back to these other pages.
Push that offending site down to the second or third page (where noone gives a fuck)

Thats about all you can do.

if its true about your uncle, and that local newspaper, then you would need like 10 backlinks to each site to outrank them... not like that they made any linking to that article

This is a perfect example of why everyone crying they have been sandboxed are out of their minds. If it was that easy this kind of thing would be going on all the time and the Google rankings would not have any meaning at all.

To answer the OP the only thing you can really do is do as suggested and outrank the article so it falls off the first page.

You would be better off hiring a hacker to hack it. Other than that, if they deindex it, the newspaper will sue google if there's not a good reason.

I don't think any newspaper could sue Google for not showing their articles.

But what was said about outranking them -> i would agree with it. If you can't beat them, be better than them.
