Hello black hat forum, I wanted some of your advice on my website.

I recently started a new website and posted 20 articles in the span of about a month (it's a review site). After that month I stopped posting due to my college finals. Right after my finals I started to make articles again, I only made a couple until I looked at my rankings for my different keywords. I had pretty much dropped out of the SERPS. Since this was my first website, I think I made a noobie mistake of using free backlinks directly on my money site. I am not sure if it was the inactivity on my website or the crappy free backlinks that I got that got me the penalty. I really am not sure if I got a penalty or not, I just know that all my articles are indexed but not in any of the keyword SERP. So my question is, will my website bounce back by posting good articles and trying to do some whitehat link building? or should I try again with another domain and a clean slate?

Thanks guys.

Just buy a new domain and move everything over to the new domain. Set up a blank HTML page with visitor tracking code in it. If you still get hits, redirect it to the new domain.

Did you work on ONpage?
What's the quality of your articles?
What's your competition?
What's the number of indexed backlinks you made?

NEVER STOP WITH LINK BUILDING, if you are serious for your business ;)

Ya it all depends...it is not always a bad thing to throw backlinks to your money site. As long as it is not excessive enough that you are spamming like 100,000 backlinks in a short period of time. Also make sure you remember to diversify link building, and to not only link to your homepage of your website but also internal pages! I hope this helps!

Thanks

Post some good article per day and marketing your articles. Bookmarking, link building, directory submission, article submission is necessary for your site. You also keep good keyword for SEO. Enough it. continue it minimum 1 month then see the result.

I think you are being too quick to even think about dumping the site

By all means start your next site, but give this site time to gain some authority

Hello thanks for the reply,

1. My articles are all 400-550 words each all completely unique content
2.My competition are about 4 or so review websites that definitely have more authority than my site and have been around for longer. They each have a little over 100 articles and have been around for a year or so. I understand that it is difficult to overcome such competition but at the same time, I am not listen right underneath them in the SERP for different keyworks. I *was* listed usually on the second page behind some emd's that had popped up for the keywords.
3.The number of indexed backlinks... I'm really not sure. Webmaster tools only says I have 21 (which are all the ones I've done white hat), and traffic travis still wont tell me aboubt my websites backlinks. (maybe because my site is too new?)

I just want to know if with some time and effort my website will be able to bounce back. There's no use putting more money and time into it if google will just never look at it again. All my articles are indexed, it is just that they are no longer in the positions that they were before (not even close)

Will it gain authority? even though it has been slapped? Sorry, this is my first time with a website and getting pushed back in the serp so drastically.

Also, as a side note for people, My sites went from position 4-10 to 20-64 (says google webmaster tool). However, when I search for my articles, they don't pop up, I feel like webmaster tools sucks......

Your original post said that the articles are indexed

So they are just not top ranking, and pulling in google traffic - right?

Site is new, can take a year to age and gain trust/authority

I'd keep building it at 1 page every 3 weeks, so google knows it's not an abandoned site

I'd also get 1 backlink to the new page using blog comment

Take it easy - don't worry so much!

With a new site there is usually a pattern

Google ranks the site quite well for the first 3 weeks

By the end of 3 weeks, Google has had time to take a close look at the site - content, back links, etc.

Site falls in rankings

Site gains trust

If site is worthy, it climbs back up the rankings

White hat. Black hat. makes no difference

A link is a link. BUT

Diversify platforms
Diversify anchor text
Build consistently
Build to inner URL's as well as domain
Continue to add content to your site

Google has no way of knowing if a link was human created or bot created, but it is a lot better at spotting a lazy and rushed linking landscape and crappy content.

Scritty

Honestly bro what you need is a cubic shit ton more back links.
