I started a niche site 3 months ago, and I?m not seeing any kind of results. I think I?m doing something very wrong, and I would appreciate if someone would help me. I?ll try to share as much information as I can without giving away my niche (hopefully).
First, this is how the rankings are right now:

Disastrous. My main keywords (with the most search volume) are either N/A, or on the 15[SUP]th[/SUP] page (which is basically the same). I have analytics installed on the site, but it?s basically only referrer spam. WT shows around 5-10 impressions a day from web search, and 100 from image search (thanks to alt tags, I guess), but no clicks.
The competition for the main keywords and some long tails. (This number might not be accurate but still?

My backlink profile:

I have so little referring domains because of a comment on an edu site which had a recent comments widget in the sidebar, but it will disappear when 1-2 more comments are added.
I basically started to replicate the best links I could find from my competitor?s backlinks.

Main competitors profile:
his domain.PNGhis domain1.PNG
A couple of web 2.0, and profiles (on unrelated forums), and blog comments with 150+ OBL.
It?s an EMD with 14% exact match anchor, and 10-15 lsi anchors. I haven?t started using exact anchors yet, so I have 30% brand anchors and the rest lsi keywords.
The site is 7-8 months old with 6-7 original articles at best, and some duplicate pages indexed.
This is why I basically chose this niche.
Another competitor: (15 page website)
2nd comp.PNG

90% of those links are no-follow blog comments.

Sorry for the long post, but I really need help with this. I?m not making any kind of progress with this site.
I?m willing to make a complete fool of myself in order to make 1 step in the right direction, so any kind of helpful advice is welcomed (including your website
sucks:breakpc1:)

Going with the normal link building method sucks sometimes so better try some new.
Start drip feeding of good link building strategy.

idk how many times I have to say this but here we go.

Build more web 2.0 and do tier link building to them, buy 10-20 PBN links, and some high pr blog comments for $6

Use all exact match anchor for the PBN links and web 2.0s and use the blog comments to dilute your anchors.

Just make sure your exact match anchors do not go above 10%

This is the high percentage or 'layup' path to higher rankings per keyword. I'd distribute the links this way: 10-15% exact anchors, 10-15% lsi, 25% generic, 25% brand, 25% url.

If you have no money to buy authority links, you could use the methods discussed by Matthew Woodward and Brian Dean to slowly get them. Or scour the lists of the top PR/PA forum, newspaper and document sites and through trial and error, join and post to those sites, to see what fraction of them can provide you quality links that are also do-follow.

You need to keep building more links, as good quality as you can afford. And yeah, watch the anchor text distribution.

For increasing website's ranking you need to implement SEO strategies properly. If you are currently doing SEO for your website and not getting results then it may be possible you need to make some set of changes in the process.
What you need to do is, start with on page again.
1. Decide some set of keywords having high searches and low competition. Also, use few long tail keyword.
2. Make changes in the meta tags according to the new keywords and also make changes in the content accordingly.
3. Make sure all the images should have ALT tags.
4. Then resubmit it by using Fetch as option in GWT.

then start with offpage.
1. Create blog and optimize them.
2. Keep on updating your website blog
3. share articles
4. participate in forums
5. share PPTs and PDFs
6. Submit Videos and optimize them
7. Create business profiles
8. submit classified ads and PR.
9. Submit website in few good quality and relevant websites

Besides, all these activities also make use of social media as social media can also help in increasing the traffic and generating leads. What you need to do is:
1. Create attractive posts to share on social media channels
2. Share offers on social media
3. Try to increase you fan/follower base
4. Join groups and communities and share your view their. You can also share your content their.

For social media only choose those channels in which you are good enough or you can also hire a Internet Marketing company for all these tasks. This saves your time and you can focus on your business more.

Hope this will help you. Feel free to ask in case you still have any query.

It's hard to guess strategy without knowing niche... Still your competitor got more diversity in links... If you want to beat his site you need to make more links with more diversity... You also need to update your site on regular basis... Problem is once a site is ranking and people are staying on it i mean less bounce Google considers it relevant so even if you manage same links you are not coming near it... You need to make more links to beat it... You have to do better in every way... Also check for on page seo factors try to beat your competitors there also... Age is also another factor but if you keep working in smart way you will get there, don't loose patience... SEO is always long term strategy...

Seo isn't always the way.

you can do YT for how to videos, Twit, ppv, ppc, lots of ways

Line up your best keywords that you'd like to perform on
Then start getting link to the approriate page on your site with these keywords in the anchor text
If you scale it out you will get some results. Monitor and improve by buildng more such links.
At the start you cannot know whch ones are going to work for you so set youself a taks of targetting, say 10.
