Hello,

I'm trying to do a project. I use Playwright and usually log in to crawl underground platforms and various news sites. Which proxy should I get? Do you have any companies you can recommend? I tried oxylabs and brightdata and they were really awful.

Only use proxies to change location when you have a valid reason (geo testing, testing regional content display). Do not use to circumvent platform policies.

They claim to be the best in the industry too!? lol if they can't help you, who can? What kind of scraping are you doing? Maybe that will help someone recommended something similar. Is it like you are just scraping on page data, or you loggin into systems, as if thats teh case, the sites just need to tighten up security, and your proxy like goose gets cooked. Also how much bandwith are you consuming for daily requests?

I log in and collect authenticated pages. So, I don't just pull open pages—I log in and collect user-specific content. My traffic is still uncertain, but it looks like I'll need 1 TB per month.

Choosing a proxy solely depends on your needs; however, if I can recommend something, avoid datacenter proxies and use either residential or mobile proxy. There are many providers claim that they're the best, but what I advise is to test it by yourself, ask for trials, and see if it fits your needs.

I also want it to go through cloudflare

Mobile proxy is your best bet for this. Has the highest trust score and can bypass the detection. For that usage of 1tb per month unlimited data mobile proxy will work although not many proxy providers will allow that much usage on a single dedicated Mobile Proxy.

mobile proxy probably your best guess
wondering why so many recommend IPRoyal had the worst experience of all proxy suppliers and its extremly costly with 8$/GB

I'm trying iproyal but cloudflare hasn't been able to get through yet.
If Cloudflare is blocking IPRoyal proxies, it's likely because their residential IPs are either flagged or overused. Even though they're budget-friendly, they often struggle with Cloudflare-protected sites. Try using their static residential or ISP proxies if available, and make sure your Playwright setup mimics real user behavior. If issues persist, you may need to switch to a more premium provider with fresher IP pools for better success.

In my opinion ip royal is best for this.

What didn't you like about oxylabs/brightdata service? Was it the speed or were their proxies blocked on the sites you're trying to access? If you care more about speed, I'd recommend an ISP proxy in/near the country that your sites are hosted in

If you're scraping then you need rotating residential proxies

Use a mobile proxy from a provider that uses real smartphones, not just modems (e.g. Bright Data, Oxylabs).
Match the passive OS fingerprint: if your browser runs Windows, set the proxy’s device POF also to Windows.
This makes the browser and TCP/IP fingerprints match. Otherwise you will be easily detected as using a proxy.

I'd go with mobile proxies. They are best for logins and heavy workflows. Check the BHW Marketplace
Proxies For Sale and look for providers with good rep and recent feedback. If you can, test a few first to see what performs best for your setup.

use sticky residential or ISP SOCKS5 (not one‑request rotation) and test cheap PAYG samples from IPRoyal, ProxyEmpire, Decodo or Webshare.
Run Playwright headful, match timezone/lang to the target, keep one profile = one sticky IP, and pair with a CAPTCHA solver + quick fraud tests before you scale.
