If you only wrote 1 and ranked 6th, that's not so bad. Make a few more and keep practicing plus add some backlinks and you'll see better results soon. Don't feel so down, instead, give yourself a pat on the back and march on. :)
 
You need more of experience in my opinion. I hope the senior members give you good advice regarding this and you follow it. In brief, ranking an article is not just about writing good content these days. Good luck with the next article.

where have you posted your article?
if your article is new and got #6 rank then its a tremendous job.
 
work for google and rank your own websites automatically on the google panel ranker
 
I can't help to checkout the post due to your title. We're in BHW, and not surprised if someone who ranks over you are also a member here. You might be hugging your competitors already by now.
 
Its just a matter of time until your article starts to rank better than other. If you really believe that the quality of your article is good, just start by creating powerful backlinks to it and you'll start seeing the results in few days. Stay motivated!

Man I’d be bouncing off the walls if I hit #6 in 30 days that’s an amazing achievement..... don’t beat yourself up you’ve actually had success lol. Did you built backlinks? Or naturally rank?
