Does the topic matter when creating it, like do I need to mark it as NSFW to strictly avoid any confrontations with the rules of the platform?

with reddit, always be subtle while promoting. one downvote initially or a comment is enough to get others to tear apart the post/comment.

You don't need to age your subreddit, but you do need at least a decent-looking account with some karma before creating one.

"Reddit can be tricky. New accounts get filtered fast, so slow organic aging + natural engagement usually works better. Avoid direct promo, mix comments with value posts, and build trust first. Subreddit also needs some age/activity before posting."

"Reddit’s filters are super strict now. New accounts get flagged fast. Best is slow aging, real engagement, and avoiding any direct promo at first. Also make sure your sub/account has some activity, or Reddit auto-removes posts."
