please !

I use a VPS (not with hostgator) and I wouldn't recommend it for everyone. I use a VPS because sometimes I need to install scripts and for the scripts to work I have to install different dependencies on the server. I also have a lot of sites and some of them are resource hogs and regular shared/reseller hosting would kick me off. I'm also like you that I don't use that much bandwidth even though I have a ton allocated to my VPS. The problem is the resources, you can bog down your VPS if you have database intensive sites and just general resource hogging sites.

Some questions you didn't answer. How many sites do you want to put on the VPS? Are they database driven sites, heavy on scripts or video? Have you ever been warned by your host about resource usage? A VPS might be good enough, but at the same time it might not be enough. It all depends on your usage and what specifically you want it for.

thanks maestro
one more question
I have my main domain "moneysite.com"
i should use my primary domain as dns? "ns1.moneysite.com"
any review about this?

Maybe. If for example you do shady things even with "moneysite.com" it might be better to use a different domain so that if complaints come in you can pretend like you're the host taking the complaint. I've had complaints on some of my sites and the complaints always get sent to me to a different email address and different domain than the offending sites. That way my hosting provider never knows about the complaints and they are happy with me.

In reality it probably won't matter. The main thing is use a domain that you plan on renewing every year. It's a possibility you can get some (probably very little) link juice to your money site from whois queries and sites like that when your nameservers are checked if you use your money site as the nameservers.

ok, I understand.
I have 34 ip free to use
but? I register a new domain for use as dns.
or use any old domain?

i scary :newbie:

It's up to you. Whatever you feel most comfortable with. If you do a lot of spamming for example with "moneysite.com" than use another domain, if you don't than it doesn't matter.

this vps is only for my legal sites. 100% white hat

thanks maestrodelweb, siempre sigo tus consejos. saludos !!!

Let me know if you need any help with your vps, I can put you on my server in my datacenter.

Kind of in the same boat though not that intensive... I just have a hand full of sites all white hat that need a vps as I think I may be outgrowing my current shared hosting...

@kusai - I would be willing to do a trade of some sorts in exchange for hosting me on a vps. Videos, scripts, CL ad copy, jsut to name a few.
