I need help building up my home office

i am using a dual monitor setup.

just buy a video card with 2 dvi or vga slots. install the driver and you can easily set how you want the monitors to work. HTH

kinda skimd the thread but heres my 2cents,

for 2 monitors per computer, you'll need a Graphic card that will support dual output. most will come with 1 vga + 1 dvi. most LCD will support both. you'll have to setup the screen on your computer. assign which is monitor 1 and which is monitor 2.

for networking, get a managed router. this will help out in the long run if you're thinking of expanding. if you're making your own network cables+connections, get the higher shielded quality ones. (cat6)

File servers. you can get yourself a portable network drive if you want to save on money (power). you you can get yourself a "simplenet" adapter, this adapter will convert any USB drive into a network storage unit. have a google on portable network storage.

if you need it for more than storing file, go get yourself a standard server, put it into a server rack :P or whereever u want.

as for monitoring things, you can always setup a server to output this onto a few screens on the wall. you can use VNC to connect to your server to refresh or adjust whatever you want. "opera has auto refresh, im sure FF has same ability or has a plugin for it"

for laptop, use lan cable if possible and stay away from using wireless. some may not agree with me on this but pretty much anyone can crack a wireless network and sniff your stuff with the right tools.

yes the can but we live in a very unpopulated place not much of a issue
