Ok so I have been having problems with this specific website that has low competition and a toooon of potential so I obv don't wanna give up on it. The main problem I have with it is that it's nowhere to be found in the serps, It IS in fact getting indexed by google and every single article I post on it (I have around 23 all unique) so it has really good content but when I look it up under my keywords it's not ranked AT ALL.
I've been building a bunch of backlinks to it but when I go to ahref or semrush and majesticseo it shows only about 6, I posted a thread on here a couple of days ago about how my backlinks weren't showing but I've since then pinged them, shot them with social bookmarks, etc and they don't show at all and I know they're still alive. My first tier are web 2.0 websites and articles, after that I have other web 2.0 directed to them and then blog comments, forum, directories to it.

So, do y'all have some sort of advice on when something like this happens?

Takes time for them to crawl the web and find links - not even google can do this instantly. The web is huge after all. The links are there and will be crawled eventually - I wouldn't worry about too much.

What timeframe are you talking about here? Sounds like days, which is too short. Google sometimes takes weeks to index your site and the backlinks. Double check your on-site SEO. I have seen a ton of examples where somebody wasn't ranking and I just changed the title tag and they shoot right to the first page.

You're right I'm probably being impatient haha

I've basically started on this website about 2- 2/5 weeks ago, I guess I wanted fast results since I'm doing everything I usually do to rank asap I work around 12 hours a day like a maniac to have things done asap because I obsess, I haven't checked my on site SEO! thank you!

Are you ranking in top 100-500? You need to keep building links till you rank.Take care of anchor diversity and also get niche backlinks ,high PR contextual links etc. Backlinks you described in OP is not that effective now a days anyway.

Dont use ahrefs or anything like that. Do you have scrapebox? If so, check your backlinks lists and see if they are indexed. If they are not, you can use twitter or blast them with blog comments.

What kind of backlinks have you built? And how many?

No, unfortunately I don't own scrapebox, but thank you for the twitter tip!

All sorts, first tier is web 2.0 and articles, all from high pr, then more articles as tier 2, other web 2.0 and blog comments, forum comments all manual and high pr

Be patient. 2 weeks is very short in a SEO life span. Be very careful about link velocity. Google will slam your site for good if it has unnatural link velocity. There are other things you need to pay attention to as well. One of them is the ratio between the number of backlinks and the number of domains that are generating those backlinks. If you have 1,000 backlinks from 20 sites, you are going to get slammed. Keep that ration as high as you can.

Dude Semrush and MajesticSEO shows one month old data. so be patience. also penguin is taking time to swallow backlinks now. it will take time for your backlinks to get indexed

Thank you so much for the advice, what would be a "normal" time span to wait for my site to get ranked?, shouldn't it at least be ranked somewhere for the main two keywords?
Thank you again

Wow, I didn't know that but I just think it's funny how it shows some backlinks I used on the same ones my competitor used before, but the ones I've been building on high pr ones are totally not showing on those programs such as semrush

guy, i know people who wait 3 months before they even think about slamming their websites with links. most people say that a website is "new" for the first 6 months. be careful, and with the way google has been playing lately, you probably shouldn't have started out with so many backlinks like this. i would recommend sharing your website through social signals like twitter/facebook/reddit.. those kind of sites first.

BUT the worst thing you can do is to STOP doing what you're doing now. you've already made a commit to say to google "hey, my site is trustworthy, so it gets a lot of backlinks". you should continue so you don't trip the algorithm and G will REALLY slam you. you are lucky you are getting indexed this fast...be patient, the ranks will come soon.

Give it a month. It should enter the SERPs by then, even if it comes in at 400 or something like that. In the meanwhile, chip away with a small number of backlinks everyday or every few days, without blasting your site.

Thank you Ramsweb!

what ranking tool did you use to check competition post a screen blanking out the keywords just show the numbers and important stuff so we can get a idea just how really easy the keyword is. Like others have said 2 weeks is a short amount of time in SEO you have to count in months give it time and keep building away good quality content and good manual backlinks, web2.0, social media promotion all that good stuff.

yeah, just be patient. just continue doing what you are doing, adding backlinks slowly and consistently. They will eventually get indexed, and you'll eventually see results.
