So I just started my dropshipping "journey". I listed my first item 24 hours ago. My account is an aged account so my selling limits are high but I do not have any reviews because I have never sold anything before.

The item that I listed has 24 views so roughly 1 view per hour but no sales so far. My question would be when should I expect to see some sales? If I am getting no sales after x amount of time what should I do to my listing? Have I picked a product that is too competitive? Also how much is my 0 seller feedback effecting my chances of a sale.

Any other tips/advice are appreciated.

Thanks.

Your going to have to sell some cheap items to boost your feedback.

Phone chargers
Cell phone protective covers
USB cables

Buy a large box from China supplier
List them cheap and get some good feedback going so you have a reputation built.

Give you a nice boost.
Try also promoting your items with fb, twit, and pinter, using the share links on your item page...

I agree with the above. Sell some cheap stuff to get some feed back in.

Also look at your price for your item where are you at on it. Are you higher or lower than every one.

Look at your ad do you have just text or do you have something that would catch there eye.

Are you offering free shipping, return policy

Several factors could go into why you are not making sales. Just after 24 hours I would not say to stress about it. but if a few days go by then you need to start changing thing up.

Thanks for the replies! Is $25 considered cheap? Also yes I am offering returns and free shipping

This is really an eBay question that you would be better served searching on eBay seller forums for as BHW is more about the how to get going than actual selling. Search google for ebay seller forums and read up there.

Okay but this is about dropshipping which won't be very welcomed on Ebay forums. Also I think a lot of people here on BHW are knowledgable of Ebay and could help.

Your question is EXACTLY an eBay selling question and has nothing to do with dropshipping. You will get better advice for selling on eBay from an eBay-Seller-Centric forum.

It's like asking the tire technician at Walmart about driving. He might know how but if you want to be a race car driver, you are better off asking race car drivers, not mechanics.

Good luck.

Ok I see... I'll ask away

This would be highly dependent on what you sell and for how much. If you are selling a niche product that no one else has, 1 view an hour should lead to quick sales. If you are selling a mass product that has fifty sellers at middle of the road prices, you may not get any sales.

You have no idea what your talking about and OP is more then welcome to ask any ebay question here on bhw because this is an IM forum and definitely covers ebay don't assume and ask a new member to go elsewhere when you are clueless to the fact.

There are thousands of ebay sellers that are bhw members and this is a great place to exchange wisdom on dropshipping and marketing your new stores etc.

OP ask away and good luck.

Op let me know and I will provide a cheap product you can buy in bulk sell several of them and raise your feedback quickly

I do have an idea of what my talking about.

The best place to get selling advice is in an eBay sellers forum. Some people here are VERY good at selling on eBay but that is not the main thrust of this forum. When I started I got OUTSTANDING advice on sales and selling techniques from eBay forums.

I never said DON'T ask here, I said you would get better advice from a seller's forum, because that's what those people are experts in.

I'm teaching people to fish. OP is asking how to fish. BHW is all about fishing equipment, not the actual technique of fishing. Sure, you have GREAT fishermen here but the vast majority of people who post in this very forum are new fishermen. If you want the real, good fishing advice you go to the pro fishermen.

So how is this bad advice to direct someone to the best possible outcome? You're doing the OP a disfavor by downplaying my advice. I advise you to take it as well and see if I'm wrong. Because I'm not. If you give some great advice, I will follow it too.

Also another question that I have is what to put on ebay for the specific shipping details? I know the shipping weight but do not know the dimensions of the package so what do I put? Also Ebay asks for a shipping service like UPS Ground, UPS Air, FedEx Ground, FedEx Air, etc. If I get my product from amazon I do not know the specific shipping service so what do I choose? I am offering free 3 day shipping (by the way). Do these questions make sense? If not tell me to clarify. Thanks.

It was bad advice telling op he would do better by leaving this forum and going elsewhere a huge majority of members are big time sellers on ebay including myself. Talking 6 figures a year and I'm not alone so he would be best served here and another thing don't forward other member off site fyi.

I know you meant no harm etc etc.
But for his exact question and wanting to grow this would be the perfect.place.

So we know what we're saying and leave it at that and let's help the guy...

Also yes I am offering returns and free shipping, thanks for the replies!
