I need clarification regarding signatures - Allowed to sell via sig?

I have been a number of people doing indirect marketing here, and selling the stuff via signatures (they dont have any BST)

Some people are soo shady that they post a part of their service or product for free and create a buzz, so in some way bypassing BST and getting sales.

Few weeks back, I tried to sell proxies via signatures, and I was banned saying I cant sell out of BST (I think I was banned because of my signatures?)

So I want to ask, can we use signatures to sell our services or products?

I was got warm selling to signature too. . but then i am seeing tone of members here selling/offering through signatures without sales thread nor for sure no approval from 'admin'

You must be a member of the forum for 30 days and have 50 quality posts before you will be allowed to use a signature on this forum. In order to use links or images in your signature, you need to be a Donor. You may post 2-3 affiliate links or 1 SMALL banner in your signature. Do not use a font size larger than 2, crazy fonts/colors, sound clips, excessive smileys, or anything else annoying. We reserve the right to change, delete or rearrange your signature as we see fit at any time.

The mods typically interpret this to mean you can only sell in your sig by advertising with affiliate ref links, or links to your bst thread. It's usually also allowed to include non sales links to other bhw threads, replies, or pages. It's not allowed to include links in your sig to any other websites that aren't through an affiliate link. It's not allowed to advertise any product or service for sale in your sig requesting people to contact you through PM.

It's true that you can find many members sigs that do include non approved links, but that just means the mods haven't taken notice. Don't think that just because someone else is getting away with it means that you will as well.
