I need career advice

I'm from Egypt and I graduated with a computer science degree in 2020 but ended up not using it. I started doing freelance writing in 2017 and found a guy who was building affiliate sites to sell on marketplaces like empire flippers, over the years I moved up in his business until I became the manager of the whole thing, at its height I was managing a $500k portfolio of sites and all the employees. He sadly became an addict and everything started falling apart around last year. I took a year off and now I wanna get back but every thing is different, with A.I. coming into the picture. What do you think I should do? Should I go back to freelance writing? Is there something else you would recommend for me?

Go with what you know the best, at least until you grow some stable capital. If the content writing area is your best skill, focus on it and improve it.
 
i will say you go with what you know because that is the best and somepeople still need that skills but you need to learn how to adapt to the latest trends so you wont be in the past
 
your skills is your weapons keep going in improving and learning new things with the us of AI it will help you to grow future.
 
Put all your skills in AI tool like chatgpt or Gemini or Grok. Ask it to search web and make a plan for you, make it ask you a question and draw up a plan. Try for a few bit and then see what’s working for you
 
Don't be intimidated by AI. The good thing is that it makes learning new skills easier than ever. You can start by offering the skills and experience you already have, then upskill along the way as you figure out where AI fits into your work. You don't have to start from scratch.
 
If your savings can sustain you, do what you were doing for your client. If not, find a job and get financially stable first.

Yes, AI will make the process fast, but you have to learn the fundamentals in order for that to work effectively. I would try to learn one particular skill and use AI to streamline the process.
 
Your experience managing a $500k portfolio is valuable. I'd look at SEO management or affiliate site operations rather than starting over with freelance writing, especially with your CS degree and experience managing teams and websites.
 
You can learn on the recent development, i belive you can easily catch up.
 
AI can help you learn new skills very fast. Content writing is a good skill to have today when alot of ai affiliate webistes appear, I would freelance and do that
