I would change your domain name first, because it looks spammy and if you are going for authority you want people to remember your website. Getting authority just with writing is possible, but it takes more time.

Don't forget one thing - if you start writing additional content, you can transform it into many backlinks. Web 2.0, support blogs, guest posts (other webmasters will be happy to publish quality content with your link), ...

This way, you will become an authority much quicker.
