One of my sites after the last update got hit hard.
Tried to keep my head down and work .

All backlink buidling efforts have backfired. Buidling links from guest post had boost for 2 days and then traffic dropped not only to previous levels but lower.The same has happened doing forum links from relavent niche.

what to do ?

I say rest it for few days before doing anything. We can't make any conclusions when you only had experienced it in 2 days.

I have been doing the links buidling for months.Offcourse i can not draw conclusions after 2 days, I am saying that traffic increased and the dropped each time after link building

there might be a google update happening as we speak (although nothing official had been announced yet), and if your site was affected by this update there's a chance it will bounce back after the dust settles (in a few weeks).

Also, how old is your site? If it's a new site (less than 3 months old), it's pretty "normal" not to have stable rankings, or rankings at all. And it could even be a google dance, sometimes when you build good links the linked page bounces in and out of the SERPs for a few days before stabilizing.

The point is: wait a little bit..

Quite old, 7 years old.
the thing is that this has been a trend, each time i build baclinks the net result is negative

If you drop and stay dropped then you're doing something wrong with your link building (probably using too much of the same anchor, or only linking to the same pages without adding more content, etc).

Also, do only the linked pages drop, or you keep losing other pages, too? Because - again - if it's only the pages that you're linking to then it's definitely something wrong with your backlinks, but if other pages drop, as well... then the culprit might be other, and 3 things I can think of are...

- the content is not relevant anymore, in which case you need to update it with up-to-date information (1 or 2 short paragraphs should do it)
- your competition keeps outranking you (low probability based on the symptoms you've described, but it could happen)
- the dropped pages are orphaned (ie. they have no traffic and / or no backlinks, internal or external, and google sometimes gets rid of such pages)

So, consider either updating the content (if the dropped content is on topics that require constant updates)... or building a few links to the dropped pages that have no links and no traffic yet (preferably build links from pages that already have traffic coming into them, or which at least rank in top 10 somewhere)...

First few days after link goes live, I get postive result, then it goes down and gets even lower than beofre the link.
Competitions is relatively low.
The first thing i did before building new links was update content on pages, gad some small improvements in ranking.

I am not doing anyhitng to index them , should i ? I am buying guest posts.

I am linking directly to product pages. After the update which hit me, red that one should build links to more page rather than only home page. Therefore this strategy.

Product pages are linked, blog posts have some internal linking but maybe it should be more. Did not pay that much attentio to that.

What should i understand with tiered links?

Also before starting guest posting, tried buying forum links, That went bad very fast, exactly those keywords which i focused on there, went from 5-6 postion to 15th position. Removed those links.

hmm, that's a weird behaviour, I've not seen it before... Might I ask what's your anchor text distribution is?

Also, you still haven't answered to one of my previous questions, namely: did you build links to the same (2,3,4,whatever) pages, or to a different page each time?

Because if you only build links to the same page all the time and that page keeps sinking then it's definitely something wrong with your links / link building method.

But if you target new pages each time, and these pages still sink... well, I don't know what the problem is in this case, sorry...

Yes, depending on the quality of the guest posts and/or other links. You can submit them to a link indexing service.

That's correct. You should be linking to the articles & sub-pages far more than the home page.

Increase the number internal links you're using. Resubmit your website URLs to GSC.

You want tier 1 to be from real websites with good metrics. Tier 1s should always be your most valued set of links. Guest posts, niche edits, DR40+.

Tier 2 can be web 2.0s, edu links, social bookmarks, press releases, etc.

Tier 3 can be a little more spammy if you need them to be. Auto approve blogs, wiki links, forum links, etc.
