I need advice for my site optimization

I started backlink building of my site 5 days ago and today my site is on rank 65 on google search results for the two keywords that I do optimization. It is a highly targeted niche.
When google can penalize my site? When I start to build too many backlinks or when I start to build them to fast? Do I need to stop for some days and after that to start building again?
And is it worth to put backlinks on sites that is not relevant to mine ?

Non-relevant links are still good... just know that relevant links are better

I'd say to do link building each day, but start at like 20-30 links a day and slowly increase it. No need to completely stop, just don't go from 10 a day to 1000 a day, for that will be more noticeable.

Slow, steady and consistent is the way, as has been said above 20-30 a day then steadily increase week on week. Irrelevant links w'ont particularly hurt but as links take time and/or money why waste either on irrelevancys?

You might want to try the search function, especially the stickies ie. all about backlinks etc
Also search user Micalef he has so much info relating to backlinks you will learn all you will ever need off members like this.

Google get suspicious when you build loads of backlinks really fast. Its best to build up.

slow is best always. 1 quality backlink is much more better than 10000+backlinks

Make back links slowly and keep it relevant to your website niche. Keep an eye on your competitors Backlinks.

It doesn't matter how many backlinks you get. There's no "set" number.

It all depends on your niche. If your website is adult related, then the chance of it getting banned or sandboxed with too many links is higher than if it was a stocks advice website.

You don't want to overdo it by getting too many crappy links, but either way there's no "set" limit to links.

Remember Google finds the backlinks at its own pace, so even if you build 100,000 backlinks in 1 day, it might take Google several weeks or a few months to locate 80% of those backlinks.
