I need advice about last google update.

Hello to everyone,

I am quite a new on forum. I did not be involved in any discussion because I cannot give anyone good advice about SEO, but I reading forum and track news as well. So I visit forum every day.

I would like to explain to all my situation, and if it possible to get some good advice, recommend to some good SEO Expert, or good service I will be more then grateful.

Here what happen.

I have been very professional and honest with my SEO worker, I have provide to him lot of money and in return I did not get nothing. I have provide him payment trough freelancer, so my profile, and my words can be checked any time.

My website is medium ranked with google. My domain is 10 months old and have PR2. All I do (all what my SEO worker done) is white seo. We never had spam links, and we never use any black hat technique, I believe that it is like that and if anyone would like to check I will sent to him my URL via PM, so I believe that I did not break any forum rules.

Website is for most keywords ranked in Top 20 position with google, and after last update it is like that and now.

But for 2 major keywords it was in last month at 3rd page, please note that those 2 keywords bring to me 95% traffic. Of course in last 10 months from my SEO I get only promises that we will be on first page, for 2 weeks, for a month, next month, etc... Now, after last google update I cannot find website for those 2 keywords at first 10 pages with google. Of course my SEO try to prove me that he will recover positions what he have lose, and that I will get better positions, and that very soon I will see improvement. Of course after 10 months, and last google update, I do not believe to him one single word anymore.

What I ask? If anyone would like to told me what happen, and would like to take a look my website to see where is mistake, give me some good advice, recommend me some good SEO expert, or some good service from this forum, it will be great.

I'd like to try and help you diagnose what went wrong . unfortunately you can't send or receive pm, Edit your first message and add your skype id, i'll add you and try to help you out.

Wait it out a few days and see whether things bounce back. Also don't let your SEO go around trying to recover the site before everything from the last update settles down. Whatever you do don't rush into some solution/SEO solution that claims he can resolve your problems. Just try to get to grips with what is wrong and you might have to wait until there is more reliable information regarding what the most recent update is targeting.

Ok, I will surely wait for few more days, it already pass two days, since that website is affected at 4th Oct.

Fact: when a SEO'er says you'll be ranked next month dump his ass. He can't knows that for sure, and for him to make such statement means he knows shit. Furthermore, never hire SEO on freelancer.com, shit site, shit services, full of noobs who just start and are testing methods on your money and your time (not all, but most do).

The update that went on 4th october is penguin 2.1, meaning an off-page algo update. Ergo, your on page SEO is ok (could be improved I guess), ergo 2 your off-page (backlinks, link building) is not ok.

What needs to be done:
1) Inspect backlink profile
2) Identify spammy domains linking to you
3) Identify if the do follow to no follow ratio is natural
4) Identify if the anchor placement and anchor text is natural
5) Identify if there are sitewide links
6) Identify if the linking domains have similar IP's and C-Class IP's
7) Remove bad backlinks collected in steps 1-6
8) Don't submit Google Disavow until you've removed a large part of those backlinks.

You do all that based on your competitor link profile.

If you don't know what you're doing, learn how to recover websites by testing or hire some one who can, but don't expect low prices for this service.

Note to the OP: If you buy cheap SEO this is what you get, penalties and loss of business. Not saying you should get the most expensive provider but do your due diligence and think. This is applicable to all consultancy services. If you hire a cheap attorney you'll probably go to jail, if you hire a cheap financial advisor you'll end bankrupt, it's the same for SEO and you've experienced it firsthand.

Thank you for advice. I will surely check all what you have mention. I have paid my seo $1000 per month. Now, I do not pay him nothing, and surely would not pay him nothing. He still prove me that all will be fine, and that we will recover. Now, he start to buying some domains and also try to prove me that he will all rank very fast. You know those words: "You will see progress very soon."

Of course that I do not believe to my current SEO single word any more.

One more question, I am thinking to change theme to my website to use some better theme, will it affect website more?

But what does this mean for Internet marketers and SEO? Well, it means a few things become increasingly more important, and first of all - the content on your site. The name of the game is relevance and your content needs to be deep and rich, rather than just fluff stuffed with keywords.

Now to get a better idea of how to adapt your digital marketing strategy to that change, you need to understand which mechanisms Google probably uses to achieve the relevance goal and what each of them means for your site.

Try determining all conversational phrases people are likely to use when searching for your services, and classify them into informational, navigational and transactional.
Make sure your content covers each of the 3 types:

• To cover informational queries, create educational, wikipedia-type content.
• Navigational queries are your brand name, your product name, the name of your site, etc. What often helps you rank higher for your brand keywords are brand and website name mentions on thematically relevant resources.
• For transactional queries, use appropriate keywords in your content, for example "hire Jason C. - a web designer from Sydney"

When possible, target conversational phrases just as they are. For all the rest of conversational terms, use their shorter equivalents.
