What kind of web development are you looking for?
Is this for a single web site or multiple?
Is this ongoing process or time constrained?
do you need support or maintenance after the work is done?

Agreed, I'd also like to add that the more general and generic you are the more likely you are to get unqualified randoms limping in with offers. If OP is serious he needs to be as specific as possible. An ACTUAL web developer is a fairly rare thing. A web designer, however, is as common as tap water.

@ThopHayt if they are as common as tap water please find me a good one iv been looking for 1 for over a year for JV on themeforest. Since design is subjective anyone can claim to be a designer but good designers are in fact very difficult to find. If your statement was correct the web wouldnt be full of shit looking websites including the website in your signature.

That would be because I'm not affiliated with the link in my sig.

None the less, yes... web designers are common. Most just suck. Just like there are a million people selling SEO, but most can rank shit. If you've been looking for a year it may be your budget is lacking. Most full custom websites BEGIN around the $4,000 mark (for a site with very little additional functionality). Then again, you're probably talking WP... but for a new custom template I'd guess a good designer would want $2,000 even for a smaller site.

i kind of agree with you on that. I already sell stuff on themeforest so im not new to the market. But i can assure you that good designers are infact very hard to find. most are already occupied and the ones that arent generally dont have the quality required for a marketplace and themeforest has an extremely difficult vetting process for design more difficult than code quality.
