If you can't get those $300 recurringly, a consumer loan is TOO risky and you will end with a huge debt.
Consumer loans are meant for people that don't currently have the money but they will in the future relatively easily (for example people already working and earning a monthly wage, that have spotted a very cheap vacation package but don't have the money to pay for it at that moment).
If I were you, I would work on something like it has been suggested. Is the safest and "quickest" way to get it. If you are a college student you must have plenty of free time. When I used to be at college, I played videogames for long hours... did not spent my time wisely at all.
I've studied two university degrees consecutively while working full time at the same time. It was really stressing but doable. You don't have to work full time to get 300 bucks...
