I was just browsing Flippa and I found a site that seemed interesting, it was sold 1500 days ago, I check it out and the domain has expired. I only recently started studying SEO so what I'm looking at is kind of a mystery to me and was hoping that I could get some light on this. I plugged the domain into Ahfres backlink checker and this is what it says:

Domain rating: 7
Backlinks: 2400 - 21% do-follow
Referring Domains: 200 - 42% do-follow

I'm looking at the backlinks, and they don't look spammy. I do see some sites that are related to the domain, but I also do see some sites that are spammy.

What other tools would you recommend me to look at?

I'm also anxious about the domain name because one of the words includes a major company. I'm wondering if that company took down the site.

Unless the company has a generic name I would stay far away from this domain. Not worth the headaches and issues that come it.

Not worth it imo.

Okay, thank you for the response. After looking more at the backlinks, I am seeing more and more spam.

Do you know any sellers here that find expired domains? I've only found one so far.

There are a few services that offer a list of expired domains and they look fairly promising.
I would highly recommend checking out the marketplace, possibly the 'SEO - Other' section.
