I got tired of using redirect checkers that might log my queries, so I built my own. Thought you might find it useful too.

It's called RedirectChecker. Here's what it does:

  • Analyzes full redirect chains
  • Lets you use custom user-agents (desktop, mobile, even bots)
  • Gives you SEO impact info
  • And the best part - you can host it yourself. No logs, no traces.

I've got a demo up at https://www.redirectchecker.org if you want to try it out.

But if you're like me and prefer to keep things in-house, grab the code from https://github.com/seadfeng/redirect-checker and set it up on your own server. It's pretty straightforward to deploy.

Why did I make this? Simple - I wanted to check redirects without worrying about who might be watching. Figured some of you might appreciate that too.

Give it a spin and let me know what you think. Any features you'd like to see added? I'm all ears.

Stay sharp, folks!
