I love being a programmer

Id say keep creating and moving forward. Keep new products coming out so you keep getting fresh buyers.

hey zenlagor, to be honest I program in several languages, but the one I get the most requests for is vb .net or Visual Basic dot net. I know its a lousy limited language but I make 90 percent of my cash with it.
 
mikedell, thanks. However I have yet to release a product of my own. I clear around 1 thousand a week off of freelancer.com I wish I had my own products out for sale. I am thinking of doing just that, however I don't know wich one to make public and create the update server for etc.

if you want my advice.. free up some of your time, like couple of hours a day (take less customer orders at once) and start working on your own product to sell. Do not stop working for customers! That way you will keep getting revenue, till you develop and launch your own product. Once you start earning some bucks from your product, then stop working for customers and focus on extending your product, making more products and etc.. If you progress good in no time you can find yourself having like 3-4 topnotch products to sell and making way more money than before, plus you will be on less stress as you won't be having any deadlines to complete customer's orders..

Why focusing on the IM niche only in my exprerience it can be a nightmare to stay up to date as websites try to fight back botting their system
mobile apps are hot nowadays you can make passive income from them
check the download section you will find some useful training on how to promote apps

I get that you want to work hard and feel that 40hours a week
is a real slog. But what if I told you that the average hours per
week for people who actually begin making real money on and
offline actually far exceeds this.

Making money online is appealing for the reasons kind of mentioned
above, it gives you great access to a customer base and methods of
making money which without the internet and computers would be
more than difficult. That said, it still requires time and effort. If you
think that making $1k+ online can be done without 40hour work weeks
(initially anyway), then you are wrong.

You've got a skill, put in some 70hour work weeks and the dividends
will pay off. If you love your programming then fitting in 30hours of
time to do stuff for yourself won't actually be that bad.

Thanks sampler! I would work alot more hours, but I have two children and a wife. I know its not an excuse. I suppose I'll continue the 40 hours a week I do already, and attempt to take on 20-30 more a week to develop some stuff to make more money. Sometimes I honestly wish I was single and did not have kids, but then I see there smiling face and quickly change my mind. Thank you for the good words. I appreciate you sampler!

may i know what programming languages do you know, and which do you recommend for an IM'er? I am in my first year in college and just learned java.
 
yeah I have plenty of tools for myself. I have been around for years. I have a custom tool for everything you can think of. Yes my Craigslist poster is better than CLAD. Of course it is not hard to make something better than CLAD. LMAO Oh well I guess I will just keep making custom tools. I just landed a contract for my third kik tool. If you dont know how to program then make friends with a programmer trust me it's worth it.

I have a some friends who are developers and that is the reason I kinda' understand your situation. All my pals are great people but don't have vision. OK your CL poster is better than CLAD and you have more tools. Start JV or hire people to work with your tools. Sell your tools. Invest $1-2K a month and you can make a lot more in 3 months. You have the skills the tools and money just go for it.
 
Hello jgf213. What I can tell you about programming is that there is no magic language that is best. The best programming language for you is simply the one you know how to use. I can code in python, cobalt, c++, visual basic, fortran, and html.
I only know these outdated languages due to college and they like to teach you the basics that way. I will tell you, many people will talk bad about visual basic, but I make most of my money programming in dot net, vb dot net. Best of wishes to you and good luck!!

Personally, I don't re-use actual code, but I do write my own libraries and use them over and over again.

What do you do? PHP, Ruby, Python, C++, C#, what?

This works if you have consistent income coming in to fund yourself.

Personally, it costs me quite a bit to live each month, because of the lifestyle I chose. I also take care of my mother by sending her money monthly. If I was to stop programming for other people, I wouldn't be able to go more than two months without making more money.

Granted, you can dedicate a few hours here and there to develop your own software, which is something I would seriously recommend. If you think that this isn't a productive way to build a product, read ReWork by the illustrious 37Signals founders, Jason Fried and David Heinemeier Hansson.
 
Thanks GoForjacob. I also can not afford to stop programming for other people just yet. I have tools that make me tons of BH income, my omegle bot for instance, will still bring in 1k a day in BH leads, but you will loose your cpa account. Most people choose not to add WH leads to there bot leads and then complain..... LOL So yeah I dont really make alot of tools for me, instead I have been programming for other people. It is working but I know there is more to life and I will get there soon.
