Hey everyone. I have been making a decent amount of money creating custom applications for people, but I have a question. Do you think it's better to keep making new applications over and over for different people, or do you think it's better to focus on one application and sell it here on BHW? If you think the latter is better then please tell me, what tool do you think I should sell on here? I just finished a kijiji poster for a friend of mine and I have made almost anything you can think of, so any ideas comments w/e is welcome. Thanks.

Wow nobody huh?

its better to work on new ideas other then just spending time on single one

thank you for your input. I just have problems finding clients at times. I also cant help but wonder if I would make alot more money selling the same project over and over again.

if you are able to make an awesome continuously updated program that is suited to this forum then, sure lots of people will buy it if you price it right.

Better try to build something for yourself. Very broad question but focus on automation and time saving. Craigslist poster for example. There is one which cost around $2k

I have been through what you are asking now.. When you create programs for customers you only get paid once. When you create a program for yourself and sell it as product, you may be paid endless times. See what i mean?

yeah I have plenty of tools for myself. I have been around for years. I have a custom tool for everything you can think of. Yes my Craigslist poster is better than CLAD. Of course it is not hard to make something better than CLAD. LMAO Oh well I guess I will just keep making custom tools. I just landed a contract for my third kik tool. If you dont know how to program then make friends with a programmer trust me it's worth it. :)

On your free time you can work on projects that can be subscription based, monthly fee, etc. You'll then just need to keep the software updated.

Code programmes for yourself and bank with them! That is what one of my friend does and he earns serious cash.

Thanks

I gave you a plus rep because you are a fellow coder and I like you. LOL

It really depends on your ideas and abilities .... I guess that if you set your mind right and you are able to build a decent program it might be better to choose one path at a time.... Hope it helps

Well guys the problem is I do not have free time. I am back logged as is. I have too much work, and I am only making about 1k a week. I was hoping to double that. I have to work about 40 hours a week for that little thousand dollars...... oh well

well atakany127 I was doing that, but after the word got out I was a decent programmer, all my free time went to 0. I wish I had time to do a cpa campaign or something LOL

Maybe you should think about utilizing your time in the most efficient way.... By saving time you might be able to get more work done and cash some more $$$$

Time to outsource some of your work?

I'm curious to what are your main programming languages for the tools you create?

if you can bear the time you spent with some ideas to work on and not have money problem do that instead of making for others ;)

As part time in mean time work for others.

Well Tracy007 I learned to program in college. That is probably not the norm, But I have a bachelors degree. You could easly teach yourself to be a decent programmer over the course of a year tho. Just pick a program and start. I encourage you to at least try a lower level language. Also Tracy007 I have found that after you learn one language, you pretty much know all of them, the syntax is just different.
