IF you want to get into ecommerce you need to look at items you can buy in bulk and then split. That's where it's at now.
Forget dropshipping and electronics.
As long as you have a USP and the will to be better than a competitor. Take it slow, it will pay off - trying to rush it your just looking for trouble I think as its hard to scale. I landed page 1 on a keyword this week after 5 years of taking it slow I'm getting 100s of orders a day and it's insane doing that first time out with ads would see money come flying in BUT the stress would be too much if your new with the learning curve and mistakes!
Ideas:
- Look at repo / liquidation auctions for cheap stock.
- I tout bird seed ALL the time but here you can buy 25kg for £12. Buy brown paper bags £8 for 1000 bags - outlay £20.
Split the bird seed up to 1kg sacks gives you 25 bags, advertise as eco friendly, plastic free bird seed for 4.99 + P&P 25 x 4.99 = 124.75 - cost £104.75...
- Screwfix sells clout nails / bolts in larger packs than people often need - houses in the UK are getting smaller people dont have large gardens anymore let alone a shed or man draw! Offer nails and screws up in 10s,20s and 30s just enough to do a job (clout nails advertised for shed roof repair is a killer) ALSO nut, washer and bolt ALL 3 sold in 1s, 2s, 3,s, 4s and 5s you would be suprised the premium you can charge for just the 1 nut, washer and bolt and people pay it.
Loads of things like that.
If you have the money buy a pellet machine and get sawdust for free from sawmills/joinery and make bio fuel!
That's all ideas for "free" plenty of money to be made you just have to be different.
