A couple of weird things happened yesterday. The day before, I created one link to my website (on something like Medium). It was a no-follow link.

Yesterday, instead of receiving 130 visitors, I got 35.

I was brilliant enough to change the theme yesterday on top of all of that (yes, I actually did this!).

It's been 12 hours now, with almost 6 visitors!!

I usually get 100~150 a day.

What to do now?

Wait, did you start losing visitors after theme change or before AND after?

Theme changes can have huge impact on ranks (for a while), and then you (might) bounce back to (around) the same position.

Think about it from Googles point of view: They rank a site high, and then you change stuff drastically (maybe adding malware?) so they send you down for a while to re-evaluate. Just my thought/opinion.

I've always dropped for a few weeks after changing theme or anything else that's major.

EDIT: Check so that new theme doesn't have it's own SEO settings, it might've fucked up there too.

change it back?
Probably your new theme is nulled?

I changed from Sahifa to Breek

Weird this is: before and after.
I was idiotic enough to change the theme on the day I started losing traffic.

I don't think one no follow link can do this kind of traffic change. So don't bother about that.

Just focus on theme change.Make sure you didn't do any mess while changing theme.
This happens to many sites. Don't judge anything within one day. Just wait for some more days. Then only you can come to some kind conclusion.

Should I really do this or just wait a couple of days?

It's not nulled, it's a Festinger one... better than the one I had.

Wait in couple days, if your traffic doesn't back it should be, change to old theme.
Because I believe every theme has different touch for SEO it self, and of course impact for loading website

If you really like the new design, I suggest you waiting another 1 or 2 weeks. Generally speaking, there is a new code (the old theme used another code and a different structure than the new one, and vice versa ). Very important, you must keep the same SEO structure of the website ( old.com/category/item-1/ and new.com/category/item-1/ ).

The culprit is theme change, relax, it will bounce back (hopefully!)

A few questions:
- Was is purely SEO trafic you use to get?
- How do you check trafic? Search Console or Analytics?
- If Analytics, is analytics still on all pages?
- If search console, can you check which keyword did make trafic compared to one week ago and which didnt?

Never had any issue migrating, except maybe having 1-2 hours of downtime at most. You shouldn't lose traffic by migrating unless your new host is terrible. Maybe it's a coincidence and there was some algo update at the same time?

Lscache migration is minutes of downtime only

The host is better, i actually move from Crap Godaddy to better new host.
I think maybe the site get further hit from the google update, if I not mistaken this current update still around haven't end?

You started losing traffic before theme change.

Doubt theme change can reduce traffic so much. That too instantly.

So better wait for 1-2 weeks.
