I just got screwed by google places

today I checked my keywords and there are now google places listings above me. I will get no traffic now :( I hate google places arghhhhh
is it possible to outrank places?

Yes. Your site is probably poopy so google places went above it.

lol. made my day man. This is why i dont get how websites that offer seo services to local people work. you search for dentist in wherever and get a google places map.

There are numerous sites above google places for for thousands and thousands of keywords.
Just build a better site than what's in google places and you'll rank over top of it. It's not that hard for a lot of keywords.

Of course you can rank above Places pages, but if some work is done to promote the Places page, it'll require less time and investment than promoting your own domain. Some say this is a conflict of interest within Google, some say it's a case for the FTC and antitrust, others just say Google is on a downward spiral. Maybe they're right, maybe not.
 
there are some methods to delete your competitors places, i never tried them before... in my opinion this is very unethical things to do... i think you need to try Adwords!
