This guy already has an aged domain and he is currently ranked #3 for his keyword. Its a local query he wants to rank for and has give me 500 upfront to rank him and 500 later when he sees that his site is incresing in traffic or he reaches number 2 or number one position for this specific keyword. I bought this lions mayne package:
HTML:

He doesnt have any backlinks to his site right now he has a pr2 and he has made a bunch of youtube videos on his channel on youtube that collectively have about a million views. i was wondering if you guys might point me in a good direction as to what to do next because I want this to work and not mess up with my first client. Should I create web2.0 properties and buy some articles? How many web2.0s and how many articles on each would be worth what he is paying me? thanks for the help guys :)

Congrats on your first client.

SEO is more of a game, so how many wont give you a perfect answer. Pyramids, Linkwheels, and a bit of spamming on the lower end will probably work. Well, dont mess up your first client. Let the pros answer the question better. Good Luck.

I think you've made a good first step. Just wait and see what the results are after a couple weeks. I actually just bought a sherlock package for one of my own clients - hopefully it works out well for the both of us!

I guess it depends upon #1 or #2.

I've used that package to very good effect and could do it alone - expect a bit of dancing around though.

See how it pans out or you'll not know the effect of what you have done.

Add some PR blog posts - gave my site a shot in the arm.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I think what I am going to do while that package is being created is buy some articles at iWriter and create a blog on the site so I can add the content. Then Im going to spin the content and create one web.2.0 properties a day linking back to the site but Im going to make sure each one is all pimped out haha. Is there a current list of the best web 2.0 properties to create? I saw a thread on here but its several years old and I was wondering if anything has changed. Thanks again guys!

Congrats on the new customer!

Since you don't have a link profile yet, build links slowly is all I can say. Buy the smaller packages from our friends at BST until you build up, wait months(year?) then go shark.

Since the "Sherlock" package is already going to do standard things like web 2.0s and other common link types why don't you focus on alternative marketing methods with the remainder of what you want to invest?

I notice when my methods are unique, for example doing something like infographic marketing (and then showing client the infographic) or a high quality video done on fiverr and promoted thoroughly can give your client a professional feel about your approach.

Not only do clients like things like these but alternative methods tend to create a broader scope for your campaign. At a later stage you can link to the infographics or videos done and see if that leads to more sharing and in turn more natural links...

Please note - I am not trying to promote my services or anything of the sort.

Congrats on your first customer! anything is fine, but just don't over-do it.
