I just don't understand...

So Penguin fucked up ALOT of people, went from ranking #1 to page 3, can't you just build it back up? Or does Google basically put a ban on that site and prohibit you from ranking anymore?

As for recovering, from what I've read; you can move the site over to another domain and 301 that site to your new one?

Yes it will work. I had redirected while ago a niche relevant expired domain to my money site. All links from the redirect domain are showing in google webmaster tools even the anchor texts, when searching for these anchor texts my site pops up on the first page, guess 301 redirect still works only if it has relevant.

But I think redirecting penalised site to new site will eventually let the ban flow to your new site sooner or later.

You have a lot of choices with what you can do with these sites. If the site converts well, simply drive traffic to it with whatever means you can and see if it will convert.

This can be PPC, social media, media buys, forum traffic, or paid traffic.

If Goofle bans you, yahoo and bing probably love you, so you can still get traffic from them, just keep doing whatever got you banned from Goofle apparently.

Google makes its dough from Adwords.

Like the local friendly drug dealer it allows you to have some of that first position traffic for a few months.

Then it rolls out an "update"and kicks you to the back of the Q.But you have got a taste of that first page action so Adwords is the only place for you to go.

Google doesnt change listings for user experience or search relativity it does it for cash. The good old days of ranking P1 for a few years are gone, welcome to fluid listings.
