I just dont like MaxBounty any more. They were my first network many months back. Sure they have paid me on time always, minus 1k when an 'advertiser' took the huff. Overall I managed to earn 7ish thousand with them over the space of a few months.

    But........

Today I referred a good freind of mine to them, he owns a network of sites, one in particular that generates over 100k unique views a day - it is crying out for montetization. I can see how gambling and freebie offers would nicely sit in this site.

I PM'd my AM and told her about the potential new user, who incidentally had also been with me last week and had met Steve (owner) and their head of publishers.

A few minutes after signup and my conversation with my PM he gets one of their auto declines on his account. I asked my PM why - her response - I just cant accept him.

Thats just BS and bad form, and this isnt the first time that a sheer wall of silence has come from Maxbounty. I ask for weeklies after meeting their 1k a week target - flat refusal, no reason given why even after asking. I have 1100$ deducted from my balance, no explanation and it takes digging on this forum to find that other members have had the same.

Well done MB and Amy in particular, you have just lost the confidence I had in your network. I wont be posting favorable comments about you or suggesting to other users that your network is one of the better ones. Its not.

Sorry - Im pissed off right now.

I've never liked Max Bounty. I sent 100% WH traffic to them and got banned b/c my conversions were 'too high'.

I just so silly of them - I've been nothing but gracious and favourable to them on this board and in person since i signed up. All they have succeeded in doing is annoying one of the few people who stuck up for them.

And in the absense of weeklies am I ever going to trust them with more than a couple of dollars of commissions. NOPE.

Good that I don't work with them.
They do not know what they are doing.
They will lose their dear affiliates before they even notice.
    Stupid..

Conversions too high? Wish I had that problem, mine are a little low with them. Amy is my rep as well and so far she has been good to me.

Maybe they don't want successful marketers keeping more for themselves.

Well if they did - they were not sharing - this guy has no IM history so no bad record. He also has been responsible for some massive government and charity sites in the UK. This is exactly the type of talent that they should want. 6 figure earner very well respected in MS development circles. One of the top in the country.

Personally in the absense of any reason, i'm gonna assume that MB have taken the huff with me. So be it.

I basically stopped using them, only push a very small amount of traffic through now, almost all of their landing pages look stupid and unprofessional, money gets taken back for no reason, and plenty of other factors.

Anyhow, why not refer him to a better network? Hydra, NB, and so on?

    Cheers :slap:

I tested them a while back, maybe 4-5 push, noticed the incredible amounts of shaving so I stopped promoting their offers. Using other network and appear to be okay. XY7 is good.

People really should understand the difference between scrubbing and shaving.

I also used them as my first CPA network. I made some $$ with them, and went through something similar where I got like $1,300 taken from my balance. To their credit, the advertiser that I was pushing was very strict and had no tolerance to the the type of traffic I was sending. So I was pissed too, ranted a bit (sorry Steve) and quit using them.

I ended up speaking with Steve and I was pleasantly surprised by his approach. You have to remember that we are using BH tactics...most of the stuff we do breaks TOS in one way or another. He was kind enough to explain to me where I would have less risk, also reinforcing the fact that they still don't want my specific type of traffic. If you read between the lines, you can figure out what to do.

I still keep my volume pretty low with them, but I wouldn't rule them out. As I have progressed in CPA I have seen that networks are good for different reasons. Maybe you are frustrated with them now, but a month or two from now you may see that they have a particular offer that you like. Or maybe you have a method in mind that might work with them, where other networks may be a bit more strict.

My point is, don't burn your bridges, you never know what lies ahead.

I got a good PM from Steve in Maxbounty when he saw this thread, and a request to contact him directly.

    I did.

I have to say that Steve is exceptional in explaining and dealing with his affiliates. We managed to uncover why my friend has been denied, which was a mix up (just goes to show its worth asking on any denial and not jumping up and down as I did - sorry Steve). He then approved my buds application.

We then got to talking about the 1k that got removed from my account. I already knew the backstory about this as I had spoken with many other BHWers who got hit with the same. It was however good to hear the extent of the issue which happened. As I have previously posted in another thread, this was NOT Maxbounties problem it was an advertiser acting unilaterally.

We also chatted about why my application for weeklies was declined. Steve had a very good reason, and one which if I had of been told I would have understanded and adapted for. He made it clear that not everyone would react well if this reason was given. Had he known the link between my affid and my identity here - he would have discussed this frankly.

All in all once again i'm very glad to have had the ability to chat with him. Every time this happens he opens my eyes slightly more to the other side of our IM world.

BigHustlah - your words are very true, and in the world of the man sitting behind a computer all day, its far to easy to take offence where its not needed - this is a lesson i need to keep studying.

All in all after my conversation with Steve all my questions and complaints were resolved, and I will start to send traffic once more.

BTW I was out of line to air this here first without first giving him the chance to have his say.

If your AM is bugging you, or you have a gripe - DO take it to the next level in the network first and see if there is a resolution.

That said - if a network doesnt have a Steve or doesnt answer - bitch away :)

My MB account had been suspended for fraud, I got no answer from them as why when I had done nothing wrong. then found out an ex-partner had been using my links for fraufulant stuff, spoke to Steve, explained what happened, he investigated and I got my account back. so yeah. I think it's great they are approachable.

At my computer... how else would I be on a forum?
Hmmm... after hearing of all these times MaxBounty has taken people's money, I am getting second thoughts about using them. Can anyone give any honest reasons for why anything was taken? Did they see BH stuff and have a legit reason to take it, or are they really just randomly stealing your money?
