I just checked that there was an error in the site map

I am currently operating a new website. Initially, it was ranking for the brand keyword, but suddenly it stopped appearing when searching for the brand name. When I checked using site:domain, the pages were indexed, so I didn't think much of it. However, today I checked Google Search Console (GSC) and found an error in the sitemap, which I have since corrected and resubmitted.

It seems that the sitemap error prevented my website from being properly crawled by Google. Now that I have successfully resubmitted the sitemap, will my website's pages and blog posts start getting crawled correctly? Also, was this issue likely the reason why my site wasn't getting ranked?

I don't think the index and crawling of the pages were done because the site map was not submitted properly.
 
Fixing your sitemap should help Google crawl your site more effectively, so keep an eye on GSC for updates. if your site wasn’t ranked due to the crawl issues you should see improvement soon.
