Occurs to me this might be an economic opportunity for someone; the fact that people can suffer serious health effects from keyboarding.
Stress related injuries are medical conditions, and the solutions for them should be marketed as medical devices. Insurance companies would rather pay hundreds for medically-required input devices than thousands of dollars for hand surgeries. We have a hospital here in my hometown that specializes in hand surgery, and does nothing else.
You might even get the government to pay for it, like they do the motorized 3-wheeled carts you see everywhere.
Another thing that occurs to me is that computer manufacturers all seem to approach their products with a universal, "one size fits all" mentality, which is completely wrong. Peoples hand sizes vary dramatically, yet what manufacturer makes a line of good quality keyboards in small, medium & large?
Beyond hand-size, peoples hands are different in other ways. Maybe there is a way to make custom-shaped keyboards based on the individual's hands. Brick & mortar businesses with special, high tech hand measuring devices that make topographic maps of a person's hands, and then the data is sent off to a manufacturer that creates a perfectly ergonomically designed keyboard just for that individual.
