Is there any post or guide on BHW that explains and tells you how to set up proxies for twitter, tumblr, facebook, etc. I am guessing it's not that difficult, but I read methods all the time saying "use proxies" or "different ip" or "make sure to switch proxies". Can anyone briefly explain proxies and how they work, and the steps needed to use them? Greatly appreciated BHW members

What is a Proxy? Did you try Google?
In simple terms, when you are connected to a Network, you are identified by your IP address, a proxy is used to hide your real IP address.

As for software it will depend on what software you are using and what you are trying to do. Any software you purchase is likely to include instructions on how to add proxies.
It seems you are non technical so it might just be easy if you use a VPN, don't worry I got your next question covered.

i use tunnelbear, simple and can use built in proxies and visit pages from anywhere.
