I have a land at the bottom of a mountain, the temperature is high in the winter, about -10 Celsius.

The soil is not so mineral rich. The winter is long and the summer is short. In general on this kind of land people grow potatoes.

I was thinking of making a fish farm, to sell fish to the city I live in, the land is 100 KM away from the city. Or another option is to grow cranberries and sell the to the local market and other countries.

Another option is to grow mushrooms and sell them.

Sorry, no. I didn't have a chance to take some photos.

I'm under the impression I've seen this post before here? Either this or someone asking something very similar. Or maybe I'm goin crazy.

You'd be much better off searching for a good real estate forum.

What about developing a small get away resort? Maybe a hunting ranch? Any game in the land?

500 acres? that's massive! Have you got the capital to work all this land?

No disrespect but...
Do you feel like this is the right forum to ask this question?

As good as any. Granted will receive a better response on a real estate forum. But we have trashy post all day, this one is different. At least.

A fruit & veggie farm is your best bet. Or a green house farm would also be a good idea.

I have some money saved up. If it's not enough I will borrow from my uncle.

I have a cabin near my land, like 1km in distance. Thanks for your response.

Try to get European funds and make a food company(eggs, milk, meat, any type of farm). A food company is a good idea anytime, because the food is very expensive, especially eco food. If you can't handle something like this then hire someone to make your project and hire employers that can manage the farm. With that land your business have got a very big potential.

PS: I'm from Romania too:)

OP if you REALLY want to bank on this land, sign off of this forum, link up with Romanian investors, get on REAL ESTATE forums for some more learning and make your big money. Do you have ANY idea on how much cash you can get out of 500 acres? You could even develop it and reap the rewards of your labor for decades to come. Either way, you've got a potentially multi million dollar piece of land if not more and you're playing around on an IM forum where adults are crying tears of joy and getting pats on the back to just make $10 a day after a MONTH's of work, only for a Google, CPA, or Youtube change to screw them of the little money they have - get out and WORK!

mushrooms are now good investment in our region
also lavander & similar herbs...

I understand op
despite we have land, we cant bank it.. due to complications in our fuckedup countries...
long story...with bad end..

Build a Wal-Mart & a Home Depot.

That's like a real-life autoblog.

That really depends on what country you are in, now doesn't it?

If it's legal, and you have timber rights, contacting a timber harvester for some selective harvesting can often produce quick significant income, especially if there are exotic trees there. Ebony, Amaranth, Pao Ferro, Pink Ivory, Cocobolo, Osage Orange, birdseye maple, curly maple, black palm, rosewood, zebrawood, bocote, burbinga, walnut, black walnut, teak, burled and spalted hardwood pieces, and many other patterned hard woods are sold in 5 1/2" x 1/4" x 2" scales for knife handles and bring premium prices. These pairs of knife handle scales commonly sell for $5 to $10 USD today, and many sell for more than $30 or $40 depending on the hardness of the wood and the beauty of the pattern..

Larger burled and spalted wood can bring premium prices from wood turners, especially when the burling/spalting produces interesting patterns in larger wood pieces that can be turned into bowls.
