I have Customers But what Do I Provide

I am networked to the hilt in my local community and I have several companies interested in me managing their online presence.

All the Ebooks and crap are all about how to find customers.

I do not have that problem.

My problem is I dont know what to do. I have no problem getting companies under 6 month contracts for $600-$1000 per month.

But what do I do. I cant imagine me spamming message boards with there link is going to cut it. I am dealing with respectable businesses in the local community.

Heres what I know.

1) Keyword Analysis - Uncover from the owner what they are trying to accomplish and what is there ideal prospect. I will then research keywords and and pick the lowest hanging fruit. (local and long tail keywords)
2) Content - Create keyword rich content to add to the webiste (focusing on the keywords I just identified)
3) Social Media. Create FB page and Twitter account. Any time new content is posted I will update. Also any promo offers or relatable news will be posted.

Heres what I dont know

1)Backlinks: I dont want to spam the internet with the same article to 100 directories. How can I get good high qulity White Hat backlinks?

Is it post good content on the website and then lot people know that this is now on the website. Find websites that would find your content useful and most likely to link to your article and post it?

2)On page Optimization. Totally for a paid program that will analyze the page and basically tell me what to do.

I need some help! I have the customers and they are waiting to write me checks I just need to be able to put togethor an action plan I feel confident in. I have a great reputation in my community and dont want to perform a poor service.

Is there a high quality guide on how to SEO clients. I dont need to know how to sell it to people or manage clients I just need the "actual work of seo".

I have done SEO work in the past here and there but now I am looking to step up my game and make a real business out of it.

I would love to have your problem. Local SEM, local.g@@gle.com, get them listed in the business section for their category, if they are get their details listed for higher ranking for local SEM returns. With Local markets you DO NOT need to worry about backlinks, AT ALL. Geo target not world target!

Howler thanks for the reply.

I am looking to put togethor a 6 month action plan for these customers.

I need to be able to articulate what I will be providing over the next 6 months. Do I just concetrate on content. And say I will be adding 3 500 word articles to your page every week. Then I also try to get better and better at having people link to these articles.

I am looking for the action plan of an above board white hat SEO firm.

I take the lack of response is that 99% of people here are thinking about doing offline marketing and 1% are. Its pretty easy folks you just need to grab your ***** and start talking with people.

Maybe I will try the SEO section

I'm doing offline marketing and up to now it has been hit or miss. Now though, I'm getting a lot of work lined up and I've got a good game plan. I know exactly where you are coming from because I was there. It took me many months to figure it out. Send me a PM and let's discuss.

Spamming the internet with the same article is hardly considered black hat if you are going to be submitting your articles to legitimate directories and e-zines. I found Articlemarketer.com very useful in this respect, I know that they are undergoing changes but their distribution system worked wonders for me.

You may also want to submit the web launches of those businesses to press release services like PR Web and the like.

In addition, you can contact other local businesses that are somewhat related to those you are trying to market that have web pages and do link exchanges with them (have them post a link to your site, and you post a link to theirs).

Have you searched BHW for 'offline' & 'seo' & 'howie' as there is some great stuff around but you need to read any reviews to get a feel of the quality.

Howie's stuff is all about getting backlinks AND getting lots of content on page 1 of Google, promoting your client's website, product or service.

The search for 'seo' should give you a few gems on how to optimise client's websites, but often just making a Wordpress blog with some great plug-ins, to work in addition to their main website is an easier option. Search for 'wordpress' for more info or just joint the free

I'm curious. How did you get customers under contract without telling them what
you were going to do for them? No disrespect intended....just curious.

I just made a major move to a different state, so I'm just getting myself back on track.
But my focus is on list building for my clients. Easier for me to sell and clients get fast feedback from it. Then I move up to other services. I do a little seo, but I don't call it that since it has a bit of a bad reputation because of con artists.

I'm also working on a web hosting biz with "seo" and list building elements. I'm going to charge more monthly for the service. I found the basis for this idea in this forum.

What you should do is to make a list of all possible traffic methods and relationship building and management methods you know

take each of them and sit down and do a proper system that you can follow for each website, .. day 1 do this, etc..

and then you'll know what resources you need and in time, you;ll also knwo what works, what is effective and what you should scrap.

You can also spy on your competitors, and contact people offering similar services to find out what they do and make sense of it all and create your own system

The key is creating a system of work , so that you knwo exactly what to expect to do, and you will be able to pitch your clients as well

yo guy, search the downloads section for something called quantum, I have been trying to find it for you but no luck. anyway it is a total business package for sales and marketing, but can be easily spun for online only. I had it but got deleted by mistake Doh. It gives you everything you need to prove value to a client including business analysis etc. all you literally need to do is fill in the blanks. Hope it helps
