I have an SEO Job Interview - Help me IMPRESS them!

Hi, I have been working in a large corporation for a while now and have been regularly purchasing SEO projects in the 3k to 5k USD range. If you want to impress someone into buying SEO, and the person doesn't have that much experience in the space is:

- Explaining SEO is valuable: how organic search engine traffic makes for better business than constantly purchasing traffic
- Explaining the big difference that ranking #1 on google makes vs ranking #2 or even #3 in the first page of the search results in terms of traffic
- Have an open discussion about their goals, some of our cases we have been primarily interested in reach while in others traffic quality has been more important

Most of the SEO we are offered is on-page, and to date have not had any good offers on off-page SEO. Funny enough, a lot of our programers believed that SEO was more akin to SPAM; so a big part of the sales work from the consultants was to educate our organization about how a big part of SEO is about making your sites better both for your visitors and for the search engines.

Usually, the guys who used to sell us us SEO also try and bundle running our SEM campaigns. This could be an interesting upsell for you to try.

I'm not too good at SEO but I hope I can contribute something here and please do correct me if this statement isn't right. Well I have a couple of websites running, most of it are indexed well in SE. Get traffic from that but doesn't converts too well as expected.

From what I've learned, what's the point even if your site are well indexed in SE's but your content isn't relevant to the searchers? Actually doing SEO is for your web visitor, having a good content for your web visitor that promising will converts every each of it into sales is much better than you have a tons of traffic but only a few percents of it does converts.

However don't you worry if your web does receive a lot of traffic at the beginning. As I said before, have a good content... give value to your web visitor... accompany them well... make their mouth keep on thanking for what you've given in the web...

Yeah, because... (nowadays common sense or nowadays fact?) 1 person will tell to another 5 person and the other 5 person will tell to another 5 person for each and so on IF YOUR WEB CONTENT GIVE A GREAT VALUE TO THEM. "Human Tell-A-Script Software"

You won't get this kind of free traffic if your web content is b**lshit. Content is always be the King. Hope this statement can be used for ya in the interview. Aim for human first and not for the robots.

P/s: Sorry my grammar sucks! haha..

Compile them a list of very good keyword phrases with minimal competition for their niche. Then explain to them how you would help them dominate those keywords if you are chosen for the job.

Compile a report for them outlining where they are currently failing, and tell them how you can efficiently boost their ranking where they are currently falling short.

Oh and for gods sake, during your interview never mention the words "Black Hat".

I'd say don't apply if you aren't qualified. If you are qualified, you should know exactly what to do, and that's to simply show off.

The interview is not just for them, but for you also.

Ask them questions about the company, the project, about everything that is going to help feel more comfortable.

Asking question is going to put you in control.

Tell them you're a BHW member as mentioned.

Job is yours.

Find out the person's name who is in charge of hiring and make a blog with the name of...

JOE BLOW (Or whatever his name is) IS THE COOLEST GUY IN THE WORLD. Rank number for that very specific phrase which should be easy to do. They will be impressed.
