Hello,

I setup a computer, hired a person to work for 8 hours for $5 ($5 total for all 8 hours) and taught him to install wordpress themes and populate them with articles.

I'm just looking for ideas on how to scale it - I have a dream of putting about 10 people on the same model and make a reasonable profit.

I would be thankful for your ideas.

Thanks

You seem proud, i wont brag about it if i were you...

Do some fiverr gigs. Got scrapebox? Tons of boring scrapebox gigs you can have him do. You'll be making around $3-6 profit an hour easily. Or have him e-mail webmasters in the niche of your choice for good guest posting or linking opportunities.

Is your worker from Bangladesh? I've been getting a lot of people from Bangladesh applying for my jobs. I say good for them. Don't ever feel bad for giving someone a job. But don't be surprised when they leave you for a better offer.

As to what they can do... anything. Give them a scrapebox license and split their time between setting up sites and backlinking.

thats really bad, thro in sum grains of rice, he might work 10 hours

Yeah don't feel bad exploiting someone... Nice mentality...

this is very nice advice! Yes, I do own a copy of SB and a VPS.

How did you get a hold of this worker, if you don't mind telling us?

Thats actually a very good worker you got there. I might need to buy him off you :P

But dude, dont feel bad - if they dont like the pay, they can leave. :)

I think I would feel bad if I paid someone $0.62 an hour, lol.

Did he force them to take the job?

Actually, $110/mo is a perfectly alright salary in some places, and in countries/cities where unemployment is 40%+ those getting a $110/mo job feel great, rather than as slaves.

Obviously, you can't expect any quality for this kind of money and can only find people who are able to perform simple, "robotic" tasks - but in some cases this is all that's needed.

i am from sub-continent and you can get a lot these kind of workers from there...
So its not a stunning thing....

Yeah some people just don't understand how desperate for money people are. How dog eat dog the world is and how poor some countries are. Most people in third world countries don't even make $1 a day. Honestly.

Well, for clarification:

In my country, this is a good salary for a school leaver, and is higher than a sales job. He is very thankful for it and does the job eagerly.

I do understand that the economical difference is forcing some people to think that I am underpaying. But the reality is, I'm creating a job for one of the many of the jobless, thereby helping him and helping the economy.

By the way, BHW is a great place and already there are some nice ideas.

@LBrown: My worker is in my own country, working in my facilities. I'm from Sri Lanka.

C'mon seriously... that's a fucking joke $5 for 8 hrs of work.

With the $5 he can buy enough rice to feed his 7 children and wife and their parents andgrandparents for a day and buy some clean water and maybe half a chicken leg. So I dont see the problem. The problem I see in people spending $10 on a mcdonalds meal that could save the life of a starving child in the third world.
