Just registered on the forum so I apoligize if I am posting this at a wrong place .

I am a young(19) web designer with my first full site on the web (my own site , not for a client or a school project) and I want to start earning with it. The site is made to take a small piece of the pie in fiverr and fiverr clones industry. In the further development the sites goal is to have regular members who use the site as a "gateway" to fiverr or other sites. Besides the fact that as an 19 old guy I could really use some bucks for myself I want the site to generate money for a real domain (using .tk at the moment) better hosting , quality backlinks and so on. I wanted to try with donations over fiverr, people would pay the gig I get 4$ and I add one of their gigs on my sponsor page, but the gig wasen't accepted by fiverr and I got banned few hours ago. So what I am asking you is : should I try the same method using a clone site (gigbuck would be my next choice) or should I considor another way to make money and what ways do u suggest for the particular niche?

thanks in advance , can't post an url since I am new member, so just remove the spaces to check the site out: best-gigs . tk

One definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results. I'd take another approach and try to get some money and experience on fiverr then I would look into full blown consulting work.

Next Step:

Stop expecting people to mouth feed you how to make money.

Edit:

i was a bit harsh here. You should look around in the forum n you'll find lots of good stuff.

If you're a web designer offer services like banner, header and other small designing jobs at Fiverr.

If you service is good you will gather a client portfolio and you can leave Fiverr to make more money.

Fiverr isn't great but it's nice way to get started.

did something like that with my first fiverr account, I modifyed after effect templates and earned 100$ but it wasn't worth it cause I spent too much time to render videos ,so I switched to 5 other micro job sites where I could charge 10$ and I sent the link of those gigs to every client I could , got banned from fiverr and got only 1 order on gigbucks after that, and lost the money from that one couse of the problem with gigbucks verison update a month or so ago. So I dont want to go back there , I want to make money with my own site wich is related to the micro job niche. about the insanity definiton ;) , fiverr clones usually dont even review the gigs they just let you offer anything but as I said in my experiance those sites have too few buyers and I am not sure thats the way to go.

redlunch I am asking for an advice in a subforum named "making money" , as I can see there are many highly experienced users here on blackhatworld , I am not asking for you to make me money, or to tell me how too make big bucks in no time, I am prepered to make an effort and work hard on this project and others in the future, I am just asking for an advice from people how know better then me, what approach to make money would work best in my case.

You have skills that many of us dont have, web design, banners etc.. Thats why so many of us go apeshit every time we see a new free theme in the download section.

Maybe you can offer your services to the group or JV with someone that will trade you knowledge and a % in exchange for your webdesign services.

You should be experineced internet marketer to be any competition to Fiverr. If you look at the clone sites then they lack the traffic neccesary for sellers.

I suggest you are better off putting your designing talent to work. Then you will get little bit money flowing your way.

If you like to create a site what is just another Fiverr clone then I'mm afraid you can work for months wihout any result in the end.

Cheers

please take a look at the link I put in the first post to see what is this all about, I am not trying to be a competition to fiverr or its clones ( but I do have the full fiverr clone script on my comp if I ever want to go that way)
The site is a "fake" search engine for gigs, it gives you the ability to select a site or a real gig search engine and add the keyword you want to search for, after that php finds the search url in my database related to that site combines it with the keyword and creates an iframe wich calls for search results on the desired site. in the background every query is stored in the database and once I have enough people using it the whole "best gig" concept comes to action, I will manualy find the best gigs out there for a desired querry and make it pop out once one of the most "searched for" querys is submited. so my targeted audience here are people who already use micro job site, I am not trying to steal them from sites like that, just give them a tool to find the best gigs they need. thats why I wanted to use gigs as a way to make money couse my audience is familiar with it, but fiverr doesen't seem to like my idea and I am looking for a new direction now.

I could say the same about a few of your threads... He has a an idea and is now just needing a little advice to build on it, wouldn't call that looking to be "Spoon Feed"

I think taking on a giant like Fivver is a big task for a 1st project. Would be akin to taking on Google and designing a search engine. Sure yours might be better but you have to overcome the fact that the other is more well known and has a huge budget to work with.

I agree with others, you have a talent many wish we had. You could make bank with that talent long before this idea if you ask me.
