Let's pretend I am a decent at SEO and ranking and I managed to get most of keywords I desire to page 5, how does that help me to get more traffic to my website because like seriously how many of you roll out to pages 5+ when you search something...

You need to rank first page. Page 5 is pretty much useless.

Yup, page #1 is where you need to be but if you get your keywords to page 5 then you have a working system so just scale whatever you are doing up.

The key is to know what your keywords are worth and then you can invest accordingly.

Forget about page 5. I would search max page 2.

Well sometimes it looks impossible to get page 1 you see a lot of wikipedia and definitions and what not..

If competition is tough on first page, I recommend abandoning those keywords OR be prepared to spend a lot of money to compete. OR don't rely on organic traffic at all, rely on social media traffic, forum traffic, etc.

I would add to your comment that unless it is a massive keywords and by massive I do mean heavy keyword, page 2 is useless.
Got a case 6 years ago on a famous game where a friend got 2nd page and he made a very cumfortable living with 5 figures a month
