Hello BHW members,

I am currently building a PBN, but during the initial setup I made some mistakes in domain selection, so now I have about 200 low-quality PBNs with only high DR.
For my money site, over 80% of the targeted posts are indexed, and so far I have not experienced any penalties or deindexing issues.

Recently, as I studied more about PBNs, I learned that placing links on the main homepage can maximize link juice.
Because of this, I am considering restructuring my PBNs so that the entire content is displayed on the homepage (homepage placement).
My main concern is whether this could potentially trigger penalties.

Some additional details:
  • All PBNs are built with different news-style themes.
  • Anchors are mixed (long-tail, main keyword, secondary keyword, brand).
  • OBL (outbound links) are less than 10.
  • After checking the archive, I found that many domains were previously used for gambling-related sites.
  • However, I believe the quality is still better than a typical shared blog network.
In this situation, do you think changing them to homepage placement is safe, or is there a risk of penalties?
I would really appreciate hearing your thoughts and experiences.

Homepage placement does push more juice, but it also leaves heavier footprints. If you’re already sitting on 200 low-quality PBNs, I’d be cautious mixing homepage + inner page links usually keeps the network looking healthier long-term.
 
For my experience building PBNs for iGaming niche:

1. Homepage links push harder

Google still gives more weight to links from the homepage, since it’s usually the most crawled and trusted page. If you restructure your PBNs so posts roll onto the homepage, you will see stronger link juice transfer.

2. Risk vs. footprint

The real danger isn’t “homepage placement” itself, but how obvious the network looks as a whole.
  • If all 200 sites suddenly dump 10 OBLs on their homepage → that’s a huge footprint.
  • If you mix styles (some homepage-heavy, some inner posts, some sidebar/footer placements), it looks much more natural.
3. Your setup specifics
  • Anchors are mixed → good, reduces risk.
  • OBL < 10 → safe, just don’t cluster all links to one money site.
  • Gambling history → this is the bigger red flag. A lot of re-used gambling domains already have manual reviews in their history. I wouldn’t put all of them on homepage placements. Rotate and dilute instead.
4. Safer approach
Instead of turning the homepage into a giant blogroll, try:
  • Latest posts on homepage (so homepage links rotate naturally)
  • A “Featured Articles” block → use this to sticky your chosen posts with links
  • Interlink homepage → category → post → money site (creates a mini funnel of authority)
My take: Homepage placements are fine if diversified, but doing it across 200 low-quality PBNs is asking for a pattern hit. Mix it up, drip-feed changes, and don’t lean on them as your only link source.
 
Having homepage filled with relevant content and surrounding your links in is definitely a good thing.

I'm not sure what you mean by "all content" on the homepage.
If you mean displaying all sticky posts with links there that's fine.

I’m considering switching it so the homepage displays the full content of each post, which means both the internal links and outbound links inside those posts will also be visible on the homepage.

Would this be safe to do, or could it increase the risk of a penalty?
 
Homepage links do pass stronger authority, but doing this across 200 low-quality PBNs can look unnatural. To stay safer, mix homepage and inner-page placements, diversify anchors, and avoid a uniform footprint this reduces the risk of penalties.

With PBNs, the only problem is if you keep repeating everything over and over.

You can display full posts on some and excerpts on others.
You can even have just one static piece of content and add all links in it. Works well with low OBL.

Excerpts can be modified so they display links on the homepage. You just have to insert link in the first paragraphs or two so it's visible.
I personally like this style, it's a nice middle way.

Yes, switching to homepage placement can be beneficial, if and only if you implement it in a way that mimics real, multi-page websites. Don't convert your PBNs into "link dumps". Watch your site structure and diversify patterns. The quality of execution — not just the tactic — determines the risk.

I’d say homepage placement can work, but it also comes with higher risk. Google usually flags patterns where every homepage is stuffed with outbound links. If you’re keeping OBL low, mixing anchors, and making the sites look like real news/blog sites, it’s safer. Biggest red flag here is the gambling history on those domains — that footprint is harder to mask. Personally, I’d test homepage placement on a smaller batch first instead of restructuring all 200 at once.
