Hello,
I'm creating a new e-commerce site. The monthly search volumes of keywords are between 30K-50K. Do you think the SEO process can be completed in 6 months? If your website with 30K-50K monthly search volume is listed on the first page, can you share your experiences with me? I wonder the degree of difficulty. I'm afraid I'll fail. Please share your experiences with me.

It will all about the quality of your backlinks and the keyword difficulty if you wanna rank 1st place in serps

It's possible! Work on quality (relevant bl, kw research, anchors, cover both sides of SEO), not on quantity.

I wouldt focus on keywords with that high volume at the beginning, throw these keywords into Ahrefs and find variations of these keywords with a lower search volume and less competition. I don’t know how difficult your keywords truly are but if it’s e-commerce they will likely be high competition and hard to rank.

you are approaching SEO from the wrong perspective.

Nowadays, google is all about authority and brands. If your site is a BIG authority in the industry (which I doubt it is since it's an ecommerce website and no eccomerce can compete with Amazon) then you can target any keyword you want and you'll rank within days, not 6 months, possibly without backlinks too.

But since your site is not a big brand, or known worldwide, your approach to SEO is to start off small until you build your brand (grow into an authority site that google rewards with delicious rankings instantly). Which further means that you need to target the "low hanging fruit", or keywords with 0-100 monthly searches, and not even those should be any keywords you find. They also need to be keywords that no one, or very few competitors target, as well. You need several thousands of these keyword (preferably each keyword associated with one product on your website), and you need to create well optimized SEO pages for these products continuously while at the same time acquiring quality backlinks (guest posts mostly) at a safe pace (few backlinks per month for few months, then increase gradually).

But anyway, that's how SEO works for informational websites / blogs. For ecommerce I am not knowledgeable enough to give advice, but I am still knowledgeable enough to tell you that the keywords you are going after are too competitive, so you might want to lower your expectations a little... if you want to get anywhere, that is.

It largely depend on your competition.

Keywords are the foundation of SEO. For instance, you should use keywords in your websites so they’ll come up in web searches.

Go to Google and search “buy laptop” Lots of major sites come up. You have Amazon, Bestbuy, Walmart, and other top companies. It would be really hard to compete with these companies. I’m not saying you shouldn’t try, but it will be very difficult to do this in 6 months.

Definitely its about the competition mate. It seems to be higher competitive keyword hence if already peopled ranked with good site, its harder to beat them. First study the top 10 pages of that keyword mate.

E-commerce niche is competitive niche, but SEO is all about doing experiments, so don't loos your hope be positive, focus on quality backlinks and good on-page

You don't know seo and yes, you’ll fail!
Instead of that learn seo and start with your project later

Start with the product pages and work out:

You need to choose your niche and keywords wisely if you are concerned about the difficulty.
Difficulty in SEO depends entirely with the market competition and Google.
6 months is all ok if you hire some expert or if you know what you are doing.
I would suggest following the Backlinko blog you can learn a lot from that guys website and Youtube channel.
Once you have sound knowledge of SEO head over to the Ahrefs blog and youtube channel, Nathan gotch is another good one.
Others are just GURU guys, they sell more than what they preach.
Theys guys give a lot of value with their case studies.

It's all about the competitors, mate!

It won't be easy for you to outrank amazon, walmart, bestbuy globally if you are offering the same products as they are.

But if your target is local market, then you should follow proper local SEO strategies for e-commerce sites.

Rubbish.

By that logic there's no point selling anything as it's all on Amazon

It all depends on the competition of the keywords. and now Google is focusing on quality sites and backlinks. So create backlinks from your niche websites which DA is high. and make sure the backlinks help you to generate a good amount of traffic.

6 months is a good period of time for SEO to get results.
But to get them in 6 month better to start hard routine work today.
