I have a problem with indexing Google

Hello everyone, I am having a problem with the homepage (example .com) being lost for more than 2 weeks now. But the other pages are completely normal and there is growth for the web, but currently the homepage is still not back. I wonder if there is any way to handle it? I have tried submitting to GSC several times but it did not work.

1) are you sure it's not indexed? Because (and no offense for this, I've been guilty of this too in the beginning :p ) some people mistake indexation for ranking. So, it's possible - especially since your other pages are indexed - for the homepage to be indexed too without you realizing you're talking about rankings

2) are you using expired domain or domain with potential trademarking / DMCA issues in it? If any of these is true, the homepage might be penalized / blacklisted by google in some way

hi sir, I understand what you are referring to but normally when using "brand keyword" i can see my homepage in search results (url: "https://example .com/"), but it has been 2 weeks since i saw it, also no DMCA penalties, it just disappeared, checking GSC always says it is indexed but no one can find it.

P/S: I seem to be a bit confused at that time so the sentence is not clear, sorry

I did it, everything is fine it even showed me the screenshot, the only problem is I can't find it

I tried using the site: operator and all other pages were found except the page (url: https://example .com/) which was not found.

that's probably because google shows you what THEY want you to see (google shows different results to different people, based on those people's search history, their thinking and behavioral patterns, google's agenda, etc)...

just use a VPN or proxy to check, it's safer....

I mean, if your domain contains words that are prone to trademark infringement or DMCA takedowns, it's possible that someone who owned this domain before you has been penalized by google with trademark / DMCA takedowns and now google refuses to show this domain name in their organic searches.

For example, if your domain name contains words like apple, microsoft, sony, disney, etc... These words belong (weird, I know, but that's the world we live in) to companies like Apple, Disney, Sony, etc.... And these companies don't want you to make money off their brand so they tell google "hey google, look at this good looking chap trying to make money off our brand! Can you, pretty please, get rid of his website so that people only buy from us instead of him because we are even more good looking than him and - more importantly - we have truck loads of money that we can share with you? So, how about that, google? Sincerely, your BFFs financial vulture partners!"

In short, if your domain name has "forbidden words" in it and it operates in the same industry as the companies whose words you "steal" it's possible that google doesn't want to have anything (legally) to do with this, so they simply refuse to index your domain name....

Although, now that I think more about it this might not be the case as this would not index any of your URLs. But other URLs do show up, so it's definitely not a trademarking issue... It could still be a DMCA issue, though as - from what I know - DMCA takedowns can happen for individual pages, and this could justify why only the homepage can't be indexed while the other pages are fine...

Anyway, I can't think of anything else that could be wrong, so I'll go with the DMCA option until someone else can figure it out...

By the way, if you don't mind, let me ask a question outside this topic: My website is only 1 year old, I accidentally know that domain age will support SEO to some extent. If I buy an old domain that has been in operation for many years, then do 301 for that website to my website and go to GSC to redirect that old website to my domain, will it help cover the youth of my domain?

It sounds like you're facing an issue where only your homepage is missing from search results, despite normal growth on other pages. Here are a few steps you can try:
  1. Check for Manual Actions: In Google Search Console (GSC), see if there’s any manual penalty on your homepage. If there is, follow Google’s recommendations to fix it.
  2. Inspect URL: Use the URL Inspection tool in GSC to ensure Google can crawl and index the homepage. If there are errors, address them as guided.
  3. Technical Issues: Review your robots.txt file and meta tags to ensure they’re not blocking the homepage.
  4. Content Update: Sometimes, a small content update and re-submit might help Google reindex the page.
If these steps don’t work, wait a bit longer as Google might take time to refresh the index.

It is some type of penalty. But the exact cause I am also not able to figure out.
 
Try to mention your Website’s name into posts. IG , FB , Pinterest are good
 
It can happen for a few reasons, like a crawl error, a noindex tag, or even an issue with your internal linking. Look at whether your homepage URL is still in the sitemap and accessible from the rest of your site. If all looks good, a couple of quality backlinks pointing to the homepage might help

I honestly don't know the answer to this question, but judging logically I would say no!

But domain age is also not a ranking factor (to any extent), so I don't think you should stress about it. Content age, on the other hand, I've heard that it IS a ranking factor, but how big of a factor it is I don't know....

Anyway, don't stress about either content age, or domain age! Just get your content and SEO right and you should be able to rank no matter if the content / domain is aged or not :)
