I don't invest more than domain/hosting/website costs in a new project. I would either use it to scale up what's already working or start a new project, wait till it's making money and THEN throw $1000 at it. Spending $1000 in hopes that it will turn into more is gambling. Spending $1000 on something that's already making money is business.

If I'm starting off with $1,000 with the knowledge now, I would:
Learn about assets and liabilities, so you'll have a better understanding on where to put your money!
- Create a website and start writing articles
- Invest in something decent - blue-chip stocks, etc.

Save it for now. Learn about IM. Find which topics you are showing more interested. Find the success people from that topics. Get information about their journey. Plan your own strategies. Invest 50% from your savings to execute the strategy. According to the result after some time plan new strategy to cover up the mistakes you have done till that time

Go to Pcmasterrace subreddit and ask them for help to in selecting components for a $1000 pc with extra RGB(rgb increases performance) and buy pc that looks like Takashi 69 with good parts in it and play Minecraft on it once a week

On a serious note, it depends on what your skills are. I don't recommend that you buy ads if you don't know what are you doing.
There are many money-making methods on the forum, read through them, and decide which ones you like more, and that start to invest slowly. I would go for SEO, but that is a slow process, and if you are not an expert in it than its probably not for you.
