I hate school

The only difference between our distastes is that I'll come out about 40,000 USD in debt and have to eat that bullshit sandwich. If I go to grad school, it'll be even worse.

Don't get into tens of thousands of dollars in debt just to make your mother happy.

Get on any executive board for anything. Anything at all. Then come back with the nonsense in this thread.

This thread is why you need to go to school and get an education. First, learn the difference between education and learning. (As for school, look up this thing called Entrepreneurship...It's an entire major about being a boss. Or Business admi...I don't even know why I have to say this. Go to school.)

People, holy shit. You're not smart, you're blinded by greed. edit: delusional and narcissistic. no wonder you need to do your own thing, how could anyone hire you?

My mom (and dad) helped me when nobody else did. They gave me everything and sacrificed years of their lives for me (many, many decades). I have to pay them back, and I am.

Nonsense, either you were born through accidental humping, or you were planned, and if you were, did your parents really think "lets give a child life, and in return they can pay us back, when they start earning"

Earning your own money, and taking care of yourself is the best present you can give your parents. peace and quiet from their point of view.

well then tell her.....shes your grandma she has to understand.....

Been on eboard for a fraternity for 2 years, and eboard for 2 separate event conventions throughout my state. Professionalism and work ethic is not determined by how much schooling you have done.

People aren't blinded by greed, delusional or narcissistic, that's just your perception of them.

If you are referring to me bud, I must tell you that my projects are 100% whitehat and quite revolutionary.

Well dude, I won't tell you exactly why I prefer earning money this way than a 9-5 job, but what I can tell you is that all that time spent on that 9-5 job would be invested elsewhere, doing much more productive things.

Honestly, one of my biggest fears in life is having to get a boring 9-5 job. I'm so thankful everyday for internet marketing and the people that could make it happen.

Hey, at least you're graduating with a college degree. However, don't fucking go to graduate school unless you really want to, or it will suck balls, guaranteed. It's time to move on and make your own decisions for your own sake, not for pleasing others. Figure out what you really want in life, then fight for it.

Just finish and graduate OP, you're about to get that degree. After you're done, you're free to do whatever you want. You're an adult now

I have never heard a single person in my life say that the wished they never went to college but I have heard plenty say they wished they did go.

Whatever you decide it should be your call ace!

Just focus on a course that suits you, obviously if you were going to do a history degree then that may not correlate to your life ambitions but if you did a business related degree or something related to IT that would give you knowledge in the field you want to be in.

I appreciate the positive and encouraging responses - and though it looks like I'm not taking charge of my actions, trust me - I'm in school because I *HAVE* to be here. My mom (and dad) helped me when nobody else did. They gave me everything and sacrificed years of their lives for me (many, many decades). I have to pay them back, and I am. I suppose I was just wondering whether going to grad school was above and beyond my duties to them.

That's nothing more than an excuse to hide behind, it's so much easier to put the blame on something or someone else then to take responsibility for your current situation.

Life is way too short, continuing to do something you hate shortens it even more. Why live your life like that when you know you can do something about it. I wouldn't be able to live someone else's dream, going through life with a fake smile is not how I want to live.

I've been helping take care of my little brother ever since he was born so I sort of know how it feels like to be a mom. You know what makes a mom happy? Seeing their child happy :D When I think about how he'll turn out as an adult, I would be so much more proud of him tackling life on his own terms, making his own decisions, living without regrets, and finding his own true happiness. Paying me back in smiles, hugs, and home cooked pizza is all I want from him :)

I hate school too. But pleasing my parents was worth nothing to me, and I couldn't do it anymore so I just quit.

After thinking about it for 1+ year, yesterday I got admission in a university to pursue a degree in computer science.....and to be honest it was not that bad.

So, after this OP, what's your final decision?, if you allow us to know that is. :)

My mother never care about my school, but I know she love me, and I love her, too. what she just ask me the same question: oh, son, do you need money? I said nope, I can get it by my own. ...Just wanna say, Never let negative attitude rule your world.

It is ridiculous to argue about.

You can't just say, go to school, or say don't go to school. Everyone is different, the argument is just a dead end.

For the majority of people the right decision is to go to school and get your degree, but for some the best decision is to drop out. It is much harder than to just say go to school.
