Well, the saga is over. I called him and explained what happened. He sounded sad, but he was fine with giving it back. I got it back and gave him the Victorian necklace, and also another surprise. I gave him the $200 back for the box of jewelry. He perked right up after that. Funny thing about the watch-I don't deal with watches. This came in a 50lb box of estate jewelry and they said it was fake. I couldn't even remember who ran that estate sale. It was professionally run by an antique dealer. But not all antique dealers know jewelry inside and out. I said whatever, no worries, I don't deal with watches anyway. After I had researched the watch and saw the price, I took it to a new dealer friend who deals with watches. I wanted him to look at it just for the heck of it to make sure it was fake. He opened it up and it wasn't a fake. So the watch really didn't cost me anything special because it was just in with everything else. Thank you everyone for helpful input. It really is nice to vent every once in a while when things get turned upside down in life.
