i gotta quit smoking

I will stop smoking soon, 20 long damn years, pfff.

To be honest I never even tried to quit.

I don't have any problems (yet lol) but, I'll try to quit at least and see how that goes.

In 10 years I've quit smoking twice - one time for one year, another time for 6 months. I just left one cigarette and told to myself if I will smoke that one, I will never ever quit. That cigarette was always with me. Later on, I called it "cigarette of conscience", cause all you need is to prove to yourself (not promise..) you can do it. And if you fail - you feel guilty. It's psychology...

First, three days were so hard for me but reminding to myself "if I will smoke that one, I will never ever quit" helped a lot.

Before deciding to quit I wrote pros and cons. Pros were like smoking is helping to reduce stress what's is bullshit. And a lot of cons like a bad smell in the mouth, fingers, clothing / money to the air / blood circulation <> potency / bad sleep / etc.

The bad thing is I started to smoke again. It happened at the party when I drink too much alcohol. And it continues for 5 years now.

By reading this topic I found the motivation for myself to try to quit again with the same method. From the 1st of September. It's because the week after is my 35th birthday. And I need to prepare myself to stop wasting my money (£300 a month) and my health. Hope - forever.

Have you ever thought how your life will be like if you just dropped it?

You should rather buy a plane ticket to Poland. Good and taxed tobacco is like 15€ / kg there. Way cheaper than your method. (Quitting is ofc the cheapest option)

@proxygo I highly recommend trying an ecigarette. Visit a local vape shop and ask for some adivce. They will definitely be able to help you there. You should also use e-liquid with nicotine in the beginning, thats gonna help you getting off the tobacco. :)
Nowhere in Europe tobacco is cheaper than Hungary:)
15£ a kilo ? Should I pay a Villanova to steal it from the tobacco farm or how . I been to poland , is not cheap as you say , maybe 50grams you take it with 4£ :) .
Been travelling in europe and Asia from 2008 few times a year , I know the prices .
That tobacco in big buckets are not make for roll up, as the cut is big and chunky. Not all tobacco is same :) anyway I speak like a tobacco consultant hahaha
Oh I forgot , 0.5kg costs 25$ in Dubai ( got it before corona stuff ) there is cheap :) as are no taxes

I switched to vaping 6 years ago, after 20+ years of smoking roll ups. Once you get your head around it's the nicotine your addicted to, and get a decent vape with the right liquid mix (50/50) you'll find it easy.

It's much cheaper as well... I used to spend a similar amount to you on tobacco, but now use 2 "Moti" ceramic vapes (one on charge, one in use) which cost one off £25, buy 4 new vaporizer chambers every 3 months at £15 and 10 - 20 bottles of liquid per month for £1 each.

haha i always have a similar approach when stopping do to "bad stuff". I always stop for a indefinite amount of time and consider it as a break and hope it lasts forever. Last time i stopped smoking i started again in a pretty stressful situation. Hope im stronger this time.

Good luck with staying smoke free !

All you gotta do is search for "autopsy" in YouTube. You'll see couple of videos where doctors open up actual bodies that just came in. Not frozen but fresh bodies. Those autopsies are done to check how the person suddenly died. So they remove all the organs.

Maximum of the time I see unnatural amount of fat as the first thing when they make an incision. All the fat around the organs.

Then I see "baggy" hearts in fairly young people. Heart should be firm and not baggy.

Most concerning thing is lungs I see. When they remove the lungs and cut them in half you'll see black liquid/tar accumulated. Like a sponge used to clean the kitchen after months.

After you watch these videos you will stop smoking, drinking alcohol, eating junk ect.

I own a vape shop and have successfully helped 100s of people stop smoking. Some have even quit vaping too!

Like some have said, you just need to get your head around vaping. The biggest mistake people make when they start vaping is that they go for a big fancy device and most of the time these aren't suitable.

You see, there are two types of devices. First type is a mouth to lung (MTL) device, these are very similar to smoking in the way you inhale the vapour. Like a cigarette you pull the vapour into your mouth and then inhale into your lungs. The second type is what's called a direct to lung (DTL) device, these are more like shisha pipes, they are more "airy" and more vapour is produced. Typically you would inhale directly into your lungs.

When a smoker, who has habitually been smoking using the same pattern of inhalation for many years tries the second type DTL, they end up coughing as they are not used to this type of inhalation. And that is where most smokers stop their road to quitting smoking by vaping.

However, if you choose the correct MTL vape, these are generally cheaper as well. Match that up with a flavour they like and at the right nicotine level they are more likely to stick with vaping and quit smoking.

There are two sides to this addictions from my experience, possibly three. 1 - the sensation of smoking, hand to mouth and then the release of a puff of smoke, this is satisfied by the vape. 2 - the nicotine craving and this is satisfied by the nicotine itself (getting the right level is important, too much and you don't feel nice and too little you're still thinking about smoking a cigarette). 3 - not so much but the taste of the cigarette is something you are used to, it brings comfort along with the whole combination of points. So if you start with a tobacco tasting e-liquid that you like, it as close to smoking without smoking as you can get.

Other things that form the learning curve are, keeping your device charged so it's there when you need it, changing the coils although now there are devices with a pod system that are prefilled and you just replace the pod when it's empty.

Hope this helps!

It's easy, in fact I usually quit smoking 3 to 4 times every month.

i think this might be my last order, wife says if one of us
quits , we both have to, and we would save around 2400GBP
a year. bonus

Just make the decision to quit.

You can do it, I believe in you. The sense of empowerment you will get from doing it, everything else if your life will feel easy to overcome.

You can do it, trust me.
