I got skillz, now what?

Allo, BHW, been here for a bit and i try to contribute as much as I can. Have picked up a few jobs in the hire a freelance section but recently lost my job.

I don't even know if this is the right place for this post, so moderators, take it easy on me if it;s in the wrong place, let me know and I will move it.

I have skillz in the following areas:

Web Design
Web Development (PHP/MySQL)
Email Marketing
Mobile Marketing

I can code anything, design anything, and market anything. The problem is, i give quotes all the time, and then find out people think I charge too much. I can't compete with overseas developers who work for $10/day.

I CAN: deliver a quality product , work during US hours, and get the job done.

So now what? Open to ideas.

If you work expansive find expansive clients that appreciates and wants quallity work.

Job will never make you rich, mate. If you have the skills - use them for your own/affiliate products.

As lancis said: why don't you do affiliate marketing instead of working for clients?

Do not sell services - sell products.

Build a tool that can sell - sell it and make $$. Much better than $5/hour programming

The terms "New and Improved" and "Limited Edition" can do wonders depending on the niche LOL.

It all boils down to researching the target niche. With that being said, I do a bit of email marketing myself and do ok. But my passion is web development. I'd love to do more affiliate marketing, but cash is tight and almost non-existent at times since I lost my day job. I need a cash infusion but that's not going to happen without spending it.

so back to square one, how can I market my services to clients here - to make money to fund the other money makers? Same problem applies, I give rock-bottom quotes only to be outbid by overseas developers, it seems like most ppl go with the lowest bid even if it means sacrificing quality.
