I got a notification on my phone saying my picture made it to the popular page. On iconosquare a star also appears next to the picture.

This is the notification I got

Ok great but I thought the popular page doesn't exist anymore? It just shows random pictures that are in my niche from small accounts for me. If the popular page exists, where is it? How do I see it? And does it still benefit me at all to make it to the popular page?

I honestly believe the explore/popular page has no significance what so ever. It's all random based on the actions of you and your followers.

Its mean it's trending in the Instagram community.

It shows what is trending to you specifically, based on who you're following and your activity.

It should still have a significance

The trending/explore section is a mixture of popular posts in your country and as well as pics that the people you followed are liking.

I didnt either! I made the popular page a couple times when i had 17K followers, but good to know!
