I Got a Warning From A Mod - Man That Blows Chunks!

I once tried selling via PM as a non Jr VIP...Got cought and smiled when I saw the warning...lolz!

I was guilty as hell, and I did it knowningly. There was no point trying to explain that I was desperate for cash and knowingly broke the rule.
Yeah! It was not like I liked what I did, more like I felt like I had no option. It could be hard to swallow because your action isnt't going to hurt anyone yet here you are being warned...for trying to earn...

If you are caught trying to get around rules out of desperation, just take it in good fate and don't think every thing and everyone has conspired against you.
They are all part of experience that should make you more determined succeed.
 
So what you are saying is one word replies are sometimes ok and sometimes an offence? No different from saying its ok to steal from large chain shops because they can afford it, but little shops you are committing a crime. My issue is a lot of what is penalized is subjective, what you deem spam is different to what I deem spam to be.

So If I have a link to a site which the user gets 20% off their first purchase and I get get 20% of their first buy, I can post that? I have been told as its for self gain I am not allowed.. Whilst there is no mention of that in the rules. Granted I would need to reformat my post to include a link without the affiliate bonus, but still.

I don't know what you posted as one word reply but if it was "Congratz" "Nice" "Thanks" "Great", etc and if your last replies all look spammy don't be surprised when your reply is removed.

It is not about the length, really, it's about the context.

I think this rule is pretty self explanatory. You're allowed to post affiliate links in the proper section and you also have to give two options, one aff and one not.

The rules might be strict (I'm not clear of warnings so don't think I'm some kind of angel here) but after being part of multiple forums in my life I can assure you they're for the greater good.

I've never really seen such an organized forum as BHW where I don't have to double check every link I press / VT scan 3 times every file I download / taking other rather time consuming steps to protect myself.

It all depends on the context of the post.

Yeah, it might be subjective, so what?

The law is subjective as well, that's how the world works.

It also depends on which section you posted that one word reply, because in the lounge they don't count to the total messages of an user, so the one word replies can't be used to fake an active and reputable profile.

The offer the affiliate link offers doesn't really matter, it is still an affiliate link.

Just read the rule 4 word by word and you've got all the answers there.
 
A few weeks ago I did a mistake and because I wasn't sure if it's a 100% TOS violation or not, I messaged to BTB. Of course, it was a TOS violation ( big or little, it doesn't matter ), but because it wasn't made with "bad will", everything was solved without any repercussion. So, yeah: He's a genuine human being! ;)

BTB gave me warning point while a newbie for responding to HAF, He said it's selling. I was like o_Oo_O:eek::eek: but I did not sell anything, just wanted to let the OP I can do his work effectively and efficiently :(:(:(
Had to read the rules to understand that BTB can give warning for responding to HAF and saying Hi, How are you doing, Stay safe and Bye :p:p:p
