I got a good EMD, now what..?

So I just purchased a pretty good domain name (at least I think I did). It is getting 27,100 global monthly searches and 8,100 local searches and has low competition. My domain is an exact match. I'm pretty sure most searchers are just looking for an image of somebody laughing. How well can this convert? And what route should I take with this?

I'm leaning towards some sort of picture matchup thing. Example, two pictures are displayed and the user chooses which he or she likes better. (kinda like hotornot or facematch). This will get the users interacting with the site and they will also have an option to add their own pictures. Or I can just make a media website with a bunch of random funny pictures/videos with lots of different categories.

What kind of money can these sites make? And how hard would it be to rank for a keyword like this. I know having an EMD is really important so I think I got a pretty big head start against my competition for this keyword.

Thanks for the info... On a side note, my domain name is pretty short and very easy to remember and good looking. Pretty stoked I found it wasn't already taken. Now I just need to figure out what to do with it. I have the skills to create very nice websites. Just not sure which route I should take with this.

Keyword in the domain still has clout, just not as much as before. The thing to do is to create content that use associated words of near equal clout, say 4-5 strong keywords built around the EMD one. Put them all on the same MNS, with 1-2 articles using kw1, 1-2 on kw2, 1-2 on kw3, etc. The combined strength of the set should more than make up for the lessened power of the EMD keyword.

EMDs are still strong. I know that because I own many, but if you screw up with the backlinking then no matter what the domain is, it's going to be hard to get the rankings back.

This domain was available or you got it from an auction or something? If it was available you are either extremely lucky or it must have a brand name in it or something. As per your question, you need to build a site, add content, add ads and optimize it.

Thanks for the reply. It was just available so I guess I just got lucky. I instabought it tho. I wouldn't call it a perfect domain name although it is an EMD and it is easy to remember and it does look pretty cool. Its 9 characters long. I have no idea if its a converting keyword tho. Thats why I'm asking you guys. I need opinions on what type of site I should create for it. As I said before, the searcher who type sin my keyword is probably looking for some sort of picture of somebody laughing or something like that.

So I was thinking a media site with funny pics/vids or as I described above a face match thing. Please give me ideas.

EMDs are still powerful. Exactly same as before.. you picked it up..

It doesn't really matter what content you add, as long as its content that is able to rank in Google.
Also, its probably good if you manage to keep your users there for a while to keep your bounce rate down.

How can we possibly tell you what content to add when we don't even know what its about?

Thank you for your reply. Well I don't want to give the domain name away quite yet but the keyword isn't very self explanatory.

That is why I have no idea what these people are actually looking for when they perform their search. Sure I might get rank spot #1 for the keyword but why would someone go to my site if the description isn't what their looking for?

Should I even worry about that at this stage or should I just get the site launched with some content, do some seo and then worry about that?
